VQS NEW MUSIC BITESIZED PODCAST
Weekly new music podcast (every Friday), based in the UK covering all 'popular' genres ( alternative, pop, dance, rock, electronic, hip hop, jazz, DnB etc). All original, strictly no covers. VQS New Music Podcast began as Voodoo Quota Show (hence VQS), way back when podcasts first began. It was actually (arguably) the very first female hosted music podcast to come out of the UK. It got big, it got hot, it got global, it got to be the place to be every Friday. It marked up thousands of listeners, which was pretty darned good back then. It covered untold genres of music- basically anything got played as long as it was so hot it smarted. So what, you ask, is different now? Absolutely nothing except the's not a tiny charge to cover the running costs, Why fix what ain't broken? It's still Friday, it's all genres, it's 20 minutes and it's Izzie Voodoo.
THE GREAT ALBUMS
Two indie rock musicians, Bill Lambusta and Brian Erickson, dive into great rock and pop music through the lens of the medium they care for most - the album. Every episode features a track-by-track review, discussions about the sounds they love, and their own stories. Guests include musicians, podcasters, and journalists who are fellow deep-dive music nerds.
THE PUNK
Long form interview podcast with DIY artists and creative types. Bands, artists, writers, film makers are all welcome to sit at our kitchen table and talk. Danny and Carla have been together for over 25 years and enjoy the creative energy of the Hudson Valley. If you're nationally unknown and not relevant to the larger pop culture you're probably someone we'd like to meet.
MELSEN'S PIANO LOG
This is a sound journal of Melsen improvising on different pianos. Practically everything you will hear is raw and unrehearsed. There will be sounds of life happening in the background, and many of the pianos are not in tune. Mel has been improvising at the keyboard since he was very young, but he began making regular recordings in 2012. This podcast is a curated selection from the larger body of recordings he has made since then. Many of the pianos featured here were part of a public art installation in Boston during the fall of 2013 - "Play Me I'm Yours" - the Boston Street Piano Project.
