A YEAR OF LISTENING
A Year of Listening Podcast is designed to reclaim the lost art of civil, compassionate, and nuanced conversation about a variety of polarizing topics. In short, we’re tackling all the topics your mother warned you not to discuss at cocktail parties. The goal of this show is to help people understand the very personal experiences that often guide our beliefs in the hopes that this expands our compassion and empathy for those who believe differently than us. I have no doubt that in every episode a listener will hear something with which he wholeheartedly disagrees. But, I also believe that if one keeps listening, he will also hear something with which he agrees. It is my hope that the conversations in this podcast will give listeners opportunities to keep listening, to practice empathy and to widen the narrow holds we have on our own perspectives to make room for someone else’s.
CHURCH OF THE CITY NEW YORK
Welcome to the Church of the City Podcast. Church of the City New York is a church community passionate about making missional disciples who pursue the presence of God and "practice the way of Jesus for the renewal of the city." We believe in the authority and power of the scriptures to shape our communal life and practice, as we seek to teach God's word with clarity and conviction. Most of the teaching in our community is done by Pastor Jon Tyson, Pastor Suzy Silk, and our teaching team. We have both morning and evening services and meet in the heart of Manhattan. SHOWING UP
The ShowIng Up podcast by a couple guys who think life is a spiritual journey full of beauty, suffering, peaks, and depth (often called valleys). At times or all at once it can be terrifying, exhilarating or ordinary. Sometimes we get very lost other times we feel found. So what do you do? How do you engage life without a clear roadmap? We think showing up and risking the journey is the highest calling. The alternatives seem unacceptable.
