MEANS OF GRACE
Means of Grace, a podcast from the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church, equips church leaders through expertise and examples. Twice a month, we feature local experts on a variety of topics from leadership to innovation and share examples of churches in our conference reaching their communities in news ways through mission engagement, Fresh Expressions and much more. John Wesley, the founder of the Methodist movement, defined Means of Grace as the outward signs, words or actions that are the ordinary channels conveying God’s grace to the souls of people. So when we’re talking about leadership or discipleship or an outreach initiative, it’s about more than doing a program well, it’s a means of God’s grace to the world.

REVELATION: A CONVERSATION
After teaching on the book of Revelation in different church contexts over the years, Tim and Steve started this project as a labor of love. The goal is simple: Help you dive into this incredible book and discover its transforming power for yourself. Neither of them are scholars, but both have spent years reading through and teaching the scriptures, along with taking (and auditing) hours upon hours of seminary courses. The content of these conversation is largely a synthesis of the books, commentaries, lectures, and years of meditation that they have spent in the book of Revelation. Tim and Steve live in Portland, Oregon—and yes—it’s as amazing to live there as you have heard. Learn more at https://www.arevelationconversation.com

Listen as we banter back and forth in our usual manner and converse about everything from culturally relevant topics to lessons learned on the road.
THE BEST MINDS PODCAST
Interviews with thought leaders in the addiction and recovery field. We focus on what works: what helps people recover from alcoholism, drug addiction, compulsive behaviors and co-occurring disorders. We also talk about how to help a loved one get into recovery. We are most interested in the integration of effective clinical practices with twelve step recovery. Hosted by best-selling authors Jeff Jay and Debra Jay. Learn more at https://lovefirst.net
ONE DAY WISER
Step up into spiritual, emotional and mental wellness with a biblical foundation. God loves you, and he loves to see you healed, inside and out. He provides all the wisdom we need to grow in his spirit, his ways and his healing transformation. He knows you have questions and that you suffer. He also compassionately awaits with open arms for you (and me) to live in ways that allow his transformation to heal our conscience, minds, even our bodies, as he pleases. In this podcast we explore God's wisdom on various levels, especially in those ways that help point toward the path he has revealed to us in the Bible and in biblical principles. He implores us to love him and to love others, which is so simple yet at the same time gives us an infinite amount to unpack for the rest of our lives, until we enter his rest and discover even more of his magnificent presence. Let's grow together, one day wiser each day. This is what is behind the name of this podcast, which is also the blessing I wish to speak to you. The candle is his Spirit working in communion with ours. The pen is our obedience as we apply his love and wisdom into our daily life, writing his commands on our hearts and engraving them with our actions. May you grow one day wiser today than yesterday, and one day wiser tomorrow than today. As we pray and speak this blessing to one another, it is summed up with the simple utterance: "ONDAWI"
PASTORING IN PARTISAN TIMES
Rising partisanship in our country has made finding common ground difficult. A recent study found that Methodism is one of America’s most politically divided denominations, with both congregants and their pastors roughly split between the Democratic and Republican Parties. This makes the work of a pastor – a spiritual leader to everyone in their pews – hard. Navigating those tensions and modeling new ways of remaining in relationship with those we disagree is not for the weak of heart. Pastoring in Partisan Times seeks to gain insight into pastoring purple in red and blue churches.
