Daraja Press is a not-for-profit publisher, based in Québec, Canada, that seeks to reclaim the past, contest the present and invent the future. Daraja is the KiSwahili word for ‘bridge’. As its name suggests, Daraja Press seeks to build bridges, especially bridges of solidarity between and amongst movements, intellectuals and those engaged in struggles for a just world. I know firsthand how hard it can be trying to balance career and family, and the desperate need for self-care (hello, like 5-minute showers please!), and the never-ending quest for personal growth. Once you step into the mom zone, life gets harder than trying to assemble IKEA furniture in the dark. I wish I was joking. We're covering it all—from the first post-baby romp to the less glamorous side of pregnancy, mental health struggles, career ambitions, and so much more. Bright is a microcast tailored specifically for Black women entrepreneurs.
