EVERYTHING THEY KNOW
What happens to society when human beings are reduced to data points? What happens when our behavior, our movements, our relationships, and our obsessions are all tracked with near perfect precision? What happens when that information is indexed for the purpose of selling us products and influencing our political viewpoints all under the guise of “building community” and “making information free.” Well, look around. That’s the world you live in. Tech monopolies have built trillions of dollars of wealth watching and recording everything that you do in a day, building a database of YOU that’s so nuanced they can predict everything you’ll do next. Join Ari Andersen, a curious generalist, as he talks to data scientists, Internet pioneers, government officials, and various other people who understand what the heck is happening. If anything is going to change, first we have to understand what’s going on.
WHOA 104.9
Remember that Vincent Price movie, where he invites a bunch of former friends who haven't heard from him in over a decade to spend the night at his haunted house? This show is sort of like that -- except instead of a haunted house, it's a podcast. Oh, and the host isn't Vincent Price; it's a guy named Slacks Fitwell. And the truth is, he HAS been in touch with his co-hosts over the past decade -- mainly to ask for money, and to RSVP no to their weddings. Whoa 104.9 is a podcast built on the revolutionary premise that three guys having a conversation in a room makes for an enjoyable, inclusive, fly-on-the-wall experience for listeners of all t-shirt sizes. The creators of Whoa 104.9 appreciate the flexibility of the podcast format, but we also believe in "sticking with what works" when it comes to the radio medium. As such, we have a traditional FM radio name, and we also incorporate award-winning jingles and foley sounds into our show. The program is hosted by three former editors of the second oldest and second funniest college humor magazine in the world -- Stanford University's "The Chaparral". Join Slacks and his pals (Josh and Peter) bi-weekly for humor, humour, and comedy, interspersed with tales of addiction, recovery, and redemption. Tune in for interviews with more people you've never heard of. "Sure, I'll check out your podcast. All right, bet." -- guy in my office who probably doesn't listen to podcasts

CULTURE SHIFT PODCAST
Culture Shift Podcast, a project of Culture Shift Agency (www.cultureshiftagency.com), interviews thinkers, activists, innovators, and artists, who defy the status quo through bold, systems-oriented, creative work in all kinds of fields. We hope to inspire listeners to be critical, engaged, and thoughtful in their own lives and to further the intellectual understanding of the culture we live in and ways we can wake up to and change the stagnate thinking that permeates our lives and wraps around us like an invisible cloak.
