Sea Hawkers Podcast

How does the Seahawks running back room look heading into the 2026 NFL Draft? We discuss whether the current group has enough in the way of “special” traits and annoyances of college film and highlight reels. The conversation narrows to what matters most on tape—contact balance, burst through the line, turning dead plays into gains, and using hands to defeat tackles—before landing on a shared Day 2 favorite: Nebraska’s Emmett Johnson. Johnson is praised for start-stop ability, lateral quickness, and making blocking look better than it is. Jonah Coleman earns strong support as another...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

Will the Seattle Seahawks look to add to their historic defense in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft? According to many of the draft experts, Clemson's Avieon Terrell appears to be a likely favorite. We discuss what is the appeal of the corner, but note some of the reasons why the fit may not be perfect. We look at other DB options like South Carolina’s Brandon Cisse, Tennessee’s Colton Hood, and Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman, while Clemson edge TJ Parker surfaces as a trench-minded alternative. Among the mock drafts we looked at, Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price was the lone...

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Snags a Record-Setting WR Contract show art Jaxon Smith-Njigba Snags a Record-Setting WR Contract

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seattle Seahawks reset the top end of the NFL wide receiver market by extending Jaxon Smith-Njigba on a four-year, $168.6 million deal, making him the highest-paid WR ever and effectively keeping him in Seattle for six more seasons. The contract structure is team-friendly early, with manageable cap hits now and a deal that could look like a bargain as the market rises. Seattle also matches Jacksonville’s two-year, $5.5 million offer sheet for restricted free agent Jake Bobo, locking in a depth piece with incentives and guarantees. The contract reduces the cap hit for Bobo in 2026 and...

For just the 12th time in franchise history, the Seattle Seahawks have now won 10 or more games. Russell Wilson has helped to make that happen as he has been the quarterback for 7 of those 12 double digit winning seasons. The latest 10 win season comes after a 37-30 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Although the Seahawks were down at halftime, it was clear the defense had Cousins, Cook and Diggs bottled up in the first half outside of the first and last drives of the first half. A huge third quarter propelled Seattle to a three-score lead in the fourth quarter, but as we've learned to expect, no lead is ever safe.

Looking ahead to the Sunday Night Football game against the Rams, Seattle will look to continue their 3-0 prime time streak, Carroll's streak of undefeated games in prime time in December, and Pete's next win has a chance to be his 100th victory on a field that helped propel him back into the NFL as the coach for the Seahawks. To get the win the Seahawks will have to find a way to keep Aaron Donald in check, put pressure on Jared Goff and deal with a new piece of the Rams puzzle with Jalen Ramsey now at corner.

Closing out the first half of the show, we discuss the injury that Jadeveon Clowney is dealing with and somewhat recent context of what Marshawn Lynch went through at the end of the 2015 season. It may be an injury that Clowney will decide to fight through until the offseason.

In the second half of the show, we talk more about how the playoff picture is shaping up for the Seahawks. We also congratulate those who have won the last few weeks in the pick'em.

Do better nominees this week are for power rankings who consistently have the Seahawks at the bottom of the list of 10-2 teams in the NFL because of score differential and O.J. Simpson for his description of how the MVP race in shaping up between Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson. Better at life honors go out to our Ring of Honor and Slack group and to Russell Wilson for what he has the opportunity to do over the final quarter of the NFL season.
