Sea Hawkers Podcast

Did we just witness the Game of the Year? Down by 16 points in the fourth quarter, the team overcame the odds with a pivotal punt return, a wild two-point conversion, and an incredible touchdown grab by AJ Barner. Sea Hawkers Podcast

We take a brief look back at the win over the Indianapolis Colts, and Jason Myers incredible performance with six field goals, before looking ahead with optimism at the Rams game on Thursday night. Concerns about offensive consistency continue, but if the offense can convert their scoring drives to touchdowns and continue to limit turnovers, Coach Macdonald has seemed to find a way to limit the Rams explosive offense. Defensively, Seattle should even be able to improve with Jarran Reed in the lineup after missing the first Rams game, Ernest Jones seemingly healthy in comparison and Julian Love...

Myers Six-Pack Ruins Rivers Hallmark Moment show art Myers Six-Pack Ruins Rivers Hallmark Moment

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seahawks claimed a nail-biting 18-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts, thanks to a game-winning drive from Sam Darnold in the fourth quarter. Philip Rivers clearly couldn't push the ball down field, and the Seahawks defense was able to limit Jonathan Taylor, yet Indy nearly found a way to win late in the game. Ultimately special teams was in the spotlight with Jason Myers making six field goals to secure the win. Mike Macdonald's coaching decisions on the defensive side of the ball sparked some debate. In what is becoming an overused narrative, the Seahawks did not try and force the run in the divisional round loss to the Green Bay Packers. As frustrating as it was to see once again the Seahawks trying to overcome a big first half deficit, the defenses inability to quickly adjust to the Packers plan to carve the defense with throws to Davante Adams. Even when Flowers tried to stay over the top of Adams in the second half, the receiver made the defense look foolish.

Seattle was able to mount a comeback in the second half, but Russell Wilson was under duress for a majority of the game. Adam explains why we saw Pete Carroll and the Seahawks reluctant to "let Russ cook," because he could not survive an entire season taking the kind of hits that he did against the Packers defense. Fortunately, fans were treated to one big moment as Shaquem Griffin logged his first sack in what could have been a huge turning point in the game.

The guys talk about the frustrations that fans have with Pete Carroll, what's next for the Seahawks in the offseason and if this group of players lived up to preseason expectations for what they could achieve.

Closing out the show, Adam calls out his friend Gerrad for his move to jinx the Seahawks late in the game, and to the 49ers quarterback who had no sense for history at the end of the regular season game against Seattle. Better at life honors go to a comedian raising funds for the wildfire relief efforts in Australia and the Seahawks twins for coming together and giving us a memorable post season moment.
