An educator since 1994, Kim taught middle school ELA for the majority of her career. In 2015, she began teaching ELA to adults in the care of the New Hampshire State Prison for Men, and the New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Women. The program, Granite State High School, provides courses in English Language Arts, math, science, and social studies, as well as career and technical classes. Kim tells her students at the beginning of each term, "In this room, you are a student and I am your teacher. Education is a way to reshape your identity." Kim is the 2020 NH Teacher of the Year.
