Show Notes
0.25 Welcome to the show.
1.30 Breaking down the “Triple M of Marketing”, it’s origin and how to leverage the “Triple M” so that marketing works for you.
2.55 The three elements provide an easy framework;
- Message 2. Market 3. Method.
MARKET:
Nick discusses the primary importance of Market. Ask yourself who is buying your product or service. Crunch the demographic as closely as possible. Research tools include using Social Media like Facebook and Instagram.
Have you defined your client avatar because this should be top of the list?
7.00 MESSAGE;
From the red-light district in Amsterdam to local companies selling adult products, Nick talks about targeted messaging.
Your message must connect with the client avatar or you’re simply wasting money. Nick likes the problem/solution approach “Do you need help with” or sharing information “Five things you need to know about choosing a Builder” Target the demographic with an understanding of their day-to-day issues.
11.40 The power of your message must connect with the ideal marketplace. Have you watched a TVC Infomercial lately?
Chris urges you to look at the elements they use to talk directly to their target consumer.
13.54 METHOD:
Do you have two avenues of marketing? Nick strongly suggests a “double shot” for maximum impact. Using a Bathroom/Tiling shop as an example, Nick talks about online marketing using Google to Facebook. Offline, free info from an instore expert or complimentary in-home consults.
16.30 From call centres to catalogues, there’s a wealth of great ideas here! Nick illustrates the use of marketing for a Glazier company.
Learn to open conversations with clients by asking about future projects…
18.50 How many “methods” do you use? Remember, more than two make it difficult to measure the effectiveness of your chosen methods. You must test your methods. Use an offline and offline method of delivery if you can.
19.30 What happens if you’re an online business? It all comes down to image quality. Your “message” is the visual – what your product looks like. The description; the right keywords are crucial. Your message IS the presentation!
23.12 If you spend around $30 - $50 a day on Social Media for three weeks, you will have enough trackable data.
23.35 If you have any questions or thoughts on marketing your business or marketing in general, reach out to Nick and Chris … [email protected]
EPISODE SUMMARY
Market… Message… Method.
Nick’s Triple M of Marketing offers a remarkably simple framework for devising and testing your marketing plan.
Profiling your demographic, or client avatar, is high on the list followed by the ease of distilling information into a directly targeted message.
Thirdly, your method should include no more than two ways to convey the “sell”; online and offline so you can test the efficacy of the campaign.
