In addition, that episode featured another drop-in from comedian with a selection from his "Slices" blog, and that one was called “The Thai That Unbinds”. It was a fun episode, and...

Saluton estas mi, , welcoming you to Succotash Episode #347. I will be your host for the duration of this episode as it is my turn to do so. Last week in Epi346, subtitled "Clips Like a Lion", show creator and executive producer of Succotash brought you a clips episode plus a little something extra. The clips featured in that episode were from the Soundcasts known as Dear Chelsea, The JTrain Podcast, and Two Vegan Idiots. The aformentioned extra took the form of a contribution from comedian "Slices" blog, called "Rebel Without A Phone". It was an entertaining episode that, if you were...

Howdy, soundcast aficionados! You must be a fan of soundcasts if you’re dropping in for yet another installment of Succotash, the Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. Because that’s all we do around here is pay homage to soundcasts. We play clips from 'em, we talk about ‘em, and sometimes we talk to the people who are ON the soundcasts, like today. But good deary me, I am getting ahead of myself. Myself being one , your every-other-weekly host of Succotash, and this is Episode 344. We’re about 5 weeks away from hitting our 12 year anniversary of this show — can you feel the excitement, the...
info_outlineHowdy, chum! I am Marc Hershon, your every-other-weekly host for Episode 245 of Succotash Shut-In, the Soundcast Stimulus Package. And this week I come to you semi-immune to the coronavirus, more commonly known as COVID-19. One shot down, one shot to go. I don’t want to seem overly eager to get the next dose over and done with, but my wife and I ARE now starting to plan a getaway to Hawaii just to get the hell outta town for the first time in over a year.
Switching gears: In case you missed my awesome co-host for last week’s Epi244, you can still catch Tyson Saner and his lineup of soundcast clips that included Mayim Bialik's Breakdown, Humboldt Holding Up, and Behind the Bastards. Find it on Apple or Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, the Laughable app, iHeart Radio, YouTube, or right on our very own homesite, SuccotashShow.com.
I have no clips for you this week but, instead, a visit with Michael Rowe, who started out as a standup comedian but who went on to become a comedy writer and producer for TV. Mike’s been nominated for a half dozen Emmy Awards for his work on Futurama and Family Guy – and he even took one home. He also got a WEBBY Award for his own animated series, The Paranormal Action Squad.
Mike’s one of those guys with long roots in comedy that I should know – we have tons of friends in common. In fact, I was turned onto Mike by Jon Manfrellotti, a friend and comic who was on Succotash a decade ago – WAY back in Episode 16! Mike has got a new book coming out — a memoir — called It’s A Funny Thing: How the Professional Comedy Business Made me Fat and Bald.
This chat was actually recorded a couple of weeks ago and I have now finished It’s A Funny Thing. It’s available at Amazon for sure, BearManer Media, and we have links up at the blog entry for this episode at SuccotashShow.com.
Tyson will be with you next week for Episode 246 and I’ll be back the week after that. In the meantime, keep your nose clean, your feel wiped, your teeth brushed, your hands washed, and your faced covered while you socially distance. And, if anyone asked if you’ve heard anything good lately, please do not hesitate to pass the Succotash.
— Marc Hershon
