What If?... The Seahawks Can 'Prove It' Against the Undefeated Niners show art What If?... The Seahawks Can 'Prove It' Against the Undefeated Niners

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday, and this one's a big game! The Niners are undefeated. Our Seahawks are the champs. So who proves it? We go through six "prove it" questions on this week's show. Can our run game be a positive influence? Can our pass rush get home against that top-ranked O-line? Who still has a lot to prove? What does Sam Darnold need to improve? Which pass-catching group is the best in the game? And how do our DBs make the Brock Purdy MVP talk look a little presumptive? Finally, we read your wishes from the Flock, make our own (a Devon Witherspoon...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers this week, and we can't wait to destroy the delusion that is fueling the Niners fanbase. Are the Niners really that good? Or have they just feasted on a soft schedule? We break it all down. Our offense is still near the bottom of the league on third down, there's real running back panic after the Jadarian Price injury and the Joe Mixon attempted signing, and it appears that letting Kenneth Walker walk was a mistake. Have you heard that Brock Purdy hasn't been sacked yet? There's a reason for it that we get into and it's not likely to remain...

3 IN, 3 OUT: Do the Seahawks Have a Fleury Problem? show art 3 IN, 3 OUT: Do the Seahawks Have a Fleury Problem?

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seattle Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Chargers 30-23 to move to 3-1, but a bunch of you are already asking the same question: do we have a Brian Fleury problem? So we went to the tape. Thirty points. Three games in a row. Is that really a problem? On offense our wide zone looked great when it was clicking, Defensively, Drake Thomas played football exactly the way we like to watch it, and on special teams Jason Myers had a couple of kicks that had us fuming. Add in a Nehemiah Pritchett pass breakup, a preview of what life without Leonard Williams would look like, and one Sam Darnold...

A Flagtastic Finish: Seahawks Survive the Flags in a Sloppy Game show art A Flagtastic Finish: Seahawks Survive the Flags in a Sloppy Game

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seattle Seahawks offense was scoreless in the fourth quarter as the defense gave up 10 points to make it an all-to-close finish against the Los Angeles Chargers. The 30-23 victory moves the Seahawks to 3-1 ahead of next week's divisional matchup with the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. We go through Sam Darnold's game versus the Chargers defense, some of the throws he missed and what we saw from the interception that started his day. Despite the early turnover, it was three turnovers by the Seahawks defense after that moment that helped swing the game in Seattle's favor, particularly the...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

A 2-1 Seattle Seahawks team welcomes in a reeling, 0-3 opponent in the Los Angeles Chargers, and the pregame news-and-notes breakdown digs into an injury question for the Seahawks' top running back. The health picture then flips to the visitors, who are banged up at receiver, tight end, and in the secondary heading into the trip up the coast. The back half breaks out a full card of betting picks, built around a run-pass balance debate, a banged-up pass-catcher prop, a receiver-usage tension between two targets, and a long-shot touchdown-scorer parlay. A reeling, 0-3 opponent comes to town, and six lightning-themed questions dig into whether that slide is about to continue for the Los Angeles Chargers. A record-setting receiver's chances of staying hot gets a close look, along with the health of a key safety and whether a run game built around a rookie back can finally break out for a big day. A rapid-fire lightning round covers matchup...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seahawks are 2-1 heading into Week 4, and coming off the loss head coach Mike Macdonald walked into the building this week and said "you can feel the resolve." JSN is chasing Calvin Johnson's all-time receiving record, Brian Fluery is trying to find his way in the red zone, and Julian Love will hopefully be back in the lineup this week. The preview then shifts to a struggling 0-3 opponent, digging into their beat-up offensive line, an underwhelming receiver room, and a pass rush anchored by two very different players. A wild Sunday around the rest of the league gets covered too, including...

3 IN, 3 OUT: Six Seahawks Conversations That Actually Matter show art 3 IN, 3 OUT: Six Seahawks Conversations That Actually Matter

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seahawks dropped a very tough loss to the home Commanders and the blame going round and round like a carousel. We work through every big conversation swirling around the Seahawks after the loss. Topics range from Jadarian Price's snap share and the special-teams kickoff-coverage issues, to a debate over Tory Horton versus Rashid Shaheed's roles. We also get into what appeared to be a stubborn tendency to run right, a red-zone play-calling gripe that's been building for weeks, and what's driving the Sam Darnold versus Drew Lock conversation. We also dig into the defense allowing a thousand...

Commanders Outsmart Seattle: Seahawks Postgame Reaction show art Commanders Outsmart Seattle: Seahawks Postgame Reaction

Sea Hawkers Podcast

It was a tough one to swallow. The Seahawks drop their first game since dropping their first game to the Rams last season, falling 33-31 on the road to the Washington Commanders. We break it all down live from the offensive line struggles, a costly Jadarian Price fumble, and a heated debate over the fourth-down decision that still has us going back and forth by the end of the show. Sam Darnold's two interceptions get a full breakdown, along with some pointed criticism of Seattle's own defensive play-calling for going too conservative. We also go over a couple calls that we think helped to...

Injury news headlines this week's Saturday show with Seahawks safety Julian Love showing up with a calf injury. The depth of the safety room is going to be tested even more! Through the first two games of the 2021 preseason, the Seattle Seahawks haven't done much to impress fans. They've lost in back to back games and most recently a 30-3 loss to the Denver Broncos. As we fight through the sleepless nights telling ourselves that preseason doesn't matter with the reminder that we haven't seen starters playing, what are some of the things we've learned from these first two games? Does it give us any clue to how the season might play out?

In our annual season expectations show, we take what we've learned through the first two games and flash back to the end of last season to lay out what we think should become of our 2021 Seahawks. We go through all of the biggest question marks regarding this year's team and point out the reasons for optimism at other areas. Can Russell Wilson bounce back from maybe the worst span of games during the second half of last season? And Pete Carroll revealed something about Shane Waldron this last week that offers the offense a different dynamic than it has had compared to any of the previous coordinators.

In the second half of the show we talk about how the 49ers appear to be leaning away from Trey Lance starting to kick off the season. The Rams have traded multiple picks for a player who has seen about as much success on the field as Rashaad Penny. Do better call outs go to a Bay Area newspaper for correlating two very unrelated health issues and to a local middle school for being a bit too wordy. Better at life nods go some of the most special members of the Seahawks organization both past and present.
