Catholic Life Coach For Men

We all know the joke - Protestants know the Bible better than Catholics. Sadly, to some extent, it's true. Reading the Bible is actually pretty hard; especially if you start from page 1 and try to go straight through. But it doesn't have to be. What if that isn't the best way? I am joined in this episode by Mr. Michael Ward, a protestant who has put together a different way to read the Bible. He challenges us to get to know the scripture better - and through it, to get to know Our Lord and the Spirit better too! You can find out more about Michael Ward at his website: Note: As a Catholic, of...

Catholic Life Coach For Men

We all know the story - the good thief and the bad thief. One goes to heaven that day. The good thief sounds pretty cool, right? Think again. I suggest to you that this was a pretty terrible dude - the sort you would never even want to go to a bar with because he might kill you! Furthermore, you're a lot more like him than you might want to admit! Join me in this episode as I discuss what it means to be like the good thief on the cross, what that means, and how to take that in as we get ready to go into the Triduum. Catholic Life Coach For Men

The topic of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity is a pretty divisive one right now. Abstractly, we all know that a diverse set of perspectives is helpful, but we also each have horror stories of how policies in the DIE name have been rammed down corporate throats causing destruction. How can we, both as Christians and as open-minded men, maximize the good while avoiding the sludge of politics? Join me in this episode for something a little bit different. I've invited a DEI leader on for an honest, direct, but respectful conversation. There's a little bit of tension, but we find some common...

It's hard to really live as a Catholic in our harsh secular world. Real displays of authentic Christian ardor are often punished - both at work and in social settings. So how do we love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and might while living in this world? Join me in this episode as I bring in George Manassa, host of the Catholic Toolbox, as an expert to help answer exactly that question. Speaking to us from the future (in Australia it's a day ahead!), he tells us about his resources to help live an authentic Catholic life in todays' crazy world. You know the scene. The husband and wife are having a difference of opinion. Both of them know full well there is a quiet disagreement happening right now. After a dark look, she responds with "we're fine, you get going!"

But what do those words really mean?

If you are like most husbands, those words seem to echo far deeper into our identities - am I a bad husband? Are we just going to keep fighting later? I guess there's no chance of meeting in the bedroom later.

We can be crushed - not by what was said, but instead by a meaning that doesn't come from the actual words, but from our thoughts.

Join me in this episode as I discuss how our thoughts regularly create deeper, scarier, and often unintended meanings from other peoples words. We all do it - and well suffer when we do.

You are always free to choose how you show up. This is real responsibility.
