Catholic Life Coach For Men

A man who enters the world will encounter problems. This is unavoidable. As soon as one is solved, another rises up. Over time this can be extremely frustrating. It's tempting to just start blaming - other people, events, and even God. When a man turns to blame and plays a victim, his life only gets worse. If he continues, he ends up with a life not worth living. Don't believe the lies of the world. Join me in this episode as Dr. Mark Teague and I dive into a discussion of how to respond to life's problems. Do you accept that there are problems and you need to work to solve them, or do you...

Catholic Life Coach For Men

Emotional attacks hurt. They cause wounds that can fester for decades if left alone. Worse, we men are particularly bad at dealing with emotional pain. It's not a surprise that we do not like the Litany of Humility. It's painful to even think about! Deep down, however, we need it. Rather than hiding, drinking, or turning to some pleasure, the Christian journey is to endure and accept suffering of all types - even emotional. But how do we do it? Join me in this episode as I explore the next part of the litany of humility - the invitation to not be afraid of emotionally painful treatment. I walk...

Catholic Life Coach For Men

The most dangerous part of Pride is how often it hides itself behind seemingly well intentioned lies. Being consulted is a good thing. Being preferred because you've worked hard is also a good thing. The desire of these, however, is not. This does not make sense right away. It's not obvious why this should be so. Join me in this episode as I discuss the danger of the desires to be consulted and preferred. These do not sound like bad things - and in fact are not. The danger is in the desire, but it's subtle. We intellectually know that the church's teachings are true, but they can be hard to...

215 - Humility Part 2 - Direct Good show art 215 - Humility Part 2 - Direct Good

Catholic Life Coach For Men

This episode continues the Humility series where I am exploring the Litany of Humility. This is one of the most painful prayers to pray, and therefore probably pretty important. Pride is one of the greatest sins of our time - and perhaps always has been. As Christians, we are called to combat the pride in our own hearts in a powerful and unique way. Join me in this episode as I walk through what I call the "direct goods" that the litany asks Jesus to deliver us from. Why would this be good? What does this even mean? Why would I want to pray this? Join me in this episode to find out. I also...

214 - Miracles and Relationships with Ed Jozsa show art 214 - Miracles and Relationships with Ed Jozsa

Catholic Life Coach For Men

This episode is part 2 of a discussion with Ed Jozsa. In part one (episode 211) he discussed his amazing story of a series of miracles that took place after he went through a horrific accident. If you have not yet listened to that episode, I strongly suggest listening to that first! In this episode he and I take the discussion in a totally different direction. I explore the impact that this story has had on his relationships, starting with his marriage, then moving into how it has affected his children and extended relationships. Join me in this episode as Ed and I discuss how you do not need...

212 - Humility Part 1 - What is Humility really show art 212 - Humility Part 1 - What is Humility really

Catholic Life Coach For Men

Humility is one of the hardest and most essential of virtues to grow in. It's painful, embarrassing, and well...humiliating! The hard part is most people don't even really understand what humility is. Join me in this episode as I start a new series on humility. The goal of this episode is just to explore what humility is, how to find our pride, and some basics of what to do. In subsequent episodes, I'll walk through each line of the litany of humility. First, however, we need some basics. This episode is not going to be fun, comfortable, or easy to listen to. It may, however, be the most...

Catholic Life Coach For Men

Sometimes the day that everything goes horribly, even tragically wrong, can be the best thing ever to happen to us. We almost never see it that way at the time, but we worship a God of impossibilities. A God that does things that seem utterly impossible. Join me in this episode as Ed Jozsa shares his miraculous, unbelievable story. After an accident that the doctors all agreed he should never have survived, Ed was given a series of truly mystical visions. They were a wake-up call to a man who was sleeping through his life. They can be a wake-up call to us as well. If you want to watch and read...

210 - Fatherhood Is Critical show art 210 - Fatherhood Is Critical

Catholic Life Coach For Men

Whether you are a father, grandfather, or thinking you might become a father one day, odds are that you aren't giving enough gravity to what that role really means. A father is often even more critical in an older child's life than his mother - and research supports this scary (and politically incorrect) conclusion! Join me in this episode as I explore the data about why fatherhood is so critical, ways that we can imitate our Heavenly Father, and practical tips to being a better father right now. Wherever you are in your journey as a father, something in this episode will challenge and inspire...

While Eve was speaking to the serpent, Adam...stood by idle. He did not act. How often do we also fail to act - either entirely or slowly? Join me in this episode as I explore why it is so important to make today "Day One" or obedience to God's will, rather than waiting to obey "One Day" in the future when it's more convenient. God invites us to obedience. I also invite you to check out my free Manly Strengths Assessment at

Your brain physically changes when you hold onto an offense or wound.

Forgiveness isn't just about your spiritual health, it directly and significantly impacts your physical health as well! People are often afflicted with serious conditions simply because they refuse to forgive.

Yet, it can often be difficult (or even impossible) to forgive - what do we do?

Join me in this episode as I'm joined by Bill Senyard. We discuss the spiritual and physical consequences of forgiveness. Bill also shares several tools that he has (with his team) developed to help people (via God's grace!) to forgive those who have hurt them.

God wants more for us than to be a sacrificial robot. He created us to enter into the ultimate relationship, starting here on earth!
