Here in the United States, the holiday called halloween is upon us.  Ghosts, witches, bats, and violence are all around us which are supposed to arouse fear.

For us alcoholics, fear is an old companion.  One that was probably dealt with early on in recovery, it just comes back to visit us occasionally.

So let’s talk about fear, and let’s start by talking what it used to be like.

Before you came into the program, where you a fearful person?

Before you came into the program, how did fear contribute to your life?

Before program, how did fear contribute bringing unintended consequences?

Did you ever have a fear of sobriety?

Do you have a fear of failure?  Explain.

What about fear of success, what is your experience?

Fear of rejection is common, have you ever experienced this?

Some are fearful of recovery because they fear a loss of identity.  Your thoughts?

Some fear recovery because of perpetual misery, did you ever have this fear?

What about economic fears?

Have you ever had fear of people?
