Sea Hawkers Podcast

After debating the question all week about whether Seahawks fans should cheer for a 49ers loss or a Saints loss, we are left with what might have been the least desirable outcome - a loss for the Seahawks. Seattle lost to the Rams 28-12 in a way that we haven't seen from a Seahawks team in recent memory. A game where they didn't look like they came to play at any point in this game. After giving up 21 first half points, the defense was able to get two turnovers early in the 3rd quarter, but the offense wasn't able to move the ball. A big reason for that is how they were dominated in the...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

For just the 12th time in franchise history, the Seattle Seahawks have now won 10 or more games. Russell Wilson has helped to make that happen as he has been the quarterback for 7 of those 12 double digit winning seasons. The latest 10 win season comes after a 37-30 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Although the Seahawks were down at halftime, it was clear the defense had Cousins, Cook and Diggs bottled up in the first half outside of the first and last drives of the first half. A huge third quarter propelled Seattle to a three-score lead in the fourth quarter, but as we've learned to...

Looking ahead to the Monday Night Football game against the Minnesota Vikings, Seattle faces a team in a similar mold of the last two football teams. The difference is that the Vikings have far superior weapons on offense with Dalvin Cook, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. Seattle will be in their modified color rush jerseys which are reminiscent of the 2009 jerseys the Seahawks only wore once. Plus, Adam shares his concerns as well as his joy regarding the Rams getting thrashed in their color rush jerseys.

Sea Hawkers Podcast

It's been two years since the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl and many of us still have the feeling that they're a good team. The team continues to have a stacked roster. But then you look at the record of the Eagles and some of their losses as they sit at 5-5 on the season and you can't help but wonder what the issue is. How could a team that beat the 8-2 Packers lose to a Falcons team that only won a single game going into their bye week? The answer: juice. It's something we see from the Seahawks in how they play for one another and it's something that you don't get a sense of when...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

The Seahawks go into overtime for a second straight week and it didn't have to be that way. The Seahawks offense had a chance to draw the game down to a final field goal in regulation, and that was after multiple plays went the 49ers way that kept the game from being a Seattle landslide. Once again, it was a slow start on offense for Seattle as they didn't score on offense until the second half and needed a short field to do it on multiple occasions. The 49ers defense showed up, but so did the Seahawks and Jadeveon Clowney. Adam is back from his long road trip and in his usual studio and saw a...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

There were some things to like in last Sunday's victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as Russell Wilson notched is fourth "stat" of this season. He's never had more than four during the regular season in his career, so with the Seahawks going into a really touch stretch in their final seven weeks of the schedule, the expectation is that he should be able to reach his personal best.  There were also some things not to like about the last game. Jason Myers missed three kicks, the defense had a hard time stopping a quarterback who may be in his last year with the team, and Adam took issue...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

This week we're talking Seahawks football as Adam dials in during his drive across Nebraska to discuss the Seahawks 27-20 win over the Falcons. But even in victory, there were questions that came up about how far the Seattle defense can carry this team as it's currently operating. Coach Carroll, in his weekly press conference, talked about how the team his ranking high on stopping opponents on third down. Seattle is also among the top teams in the league when it comes to holding teams to field goals or no points inside the red zone. However, one of the stats that jumps off the page is the...

With the NFL Trade deadline still a few days away, the Seahawks have made a trade with the Detroit Lions to bring in Quandre Diggs to help with the struggling safety group. Adam and Brandan evaluate the trade as well as how the roster is currently constructed on defense. Detroit Lions fans appear to be upset about the trade and they've found one of the better online reactions to play on the show. Looking back to the Ravens game, Adam points out the turning point where things really started to go downhill for the Seahawks and the moment wasn't the Russell Wilson interception (which may have...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

After another outstanding performance by Russell Wilson on Sunday, we take some time kicking off this week's episode with a look at some of the milestones that Russ has reached so far and one on the horizon that Tom Brady has held for about 10 years. We also look at one of the position groups that is playing at a high level that maybe didn't have the highest expectations coming into the 2019 season. And looking back at the Browns game, we highlight two of the top plays that should make the year-end highlight reel. Since it seems as though everyone wants to point fingers at the officials, we...

Sea Hawkers Podcast

Through six weeks of the season, the Seahawks are now 5-1 and have as many wins as the San Francisco 49ers who are leading the division after their win on Sunday over the Rams. But is it starting to feel like Russell Wilson and Chris Carson are Brian and Dom from Fast and Furious? If these are the two guys we're going to ride or die with this season, we're happy to be on board, but at some point it would be nice to see some pressure from the defensive line. Is that something we'll be able to see with the return of Jarran Reed? The defense was making plays in terms of turnovers in this game....

Russell Wilson engineers a game-winning drive against the Panthers to complete a rather ugly 13-9 win. Seahawks fans can rejoice because it ends a two-game losing streak. This week Brandan checks in from Bay Area with Adam manning the fort back in Missoula to talk about optimism for the season moving forward. Though Brandan admits that some of the "battered fan syndrome" experienced in years past is starting to creep back in.

They talk about how an improved pass rush impacted the game and Bruce Irvin was able to show up when it mattered post. Special teams is also a focus as Paul Richardson shows his speed on kick returns and Richard Sherman fills in as punt returner. Which one could take the job away from Bryan Walters?

The guys preview the matchup against the Raiders. Brandan speaks with Raider Ron, who will be attending his 239th straight Raiders game (including home and away games). It's clear that Ron isn't expecting much for this year's team, but hopes are high for the future with budding stars on both sides of the ball.

We read some of our latest reviews of the show and an email from a listener who says he's going to stop listening because of the bad juju it has brought upon the team. Adam says Cam Newton needs "do better" especially when it comes to signaling first downs even when he comes up short. Brandan directs his "do better" to Mike Freeman for unnecessarily introducing race in the story about Russell Wilson and other members of the Seahawks locker room. Better at life honors go to a dailyleak.org article and Seahawks owner Paul Allen for his contributions to fight ebola.
