2 Corinthians 8:9

2 Corinthians 8:9 states, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.”

 

1. The humble circumstances Jesus experienced when he came to earth (Philippians 2:5-8)

 

2. The spiritual riches experienced by all who put their personal faith in Jesus:

 

1) being saved (Ephesians 2:8-9)

 

2) being forgiven by God of all sins (Ephesians 1:7)

 

3) being justified — declared righteous by God (Romans 3:24)

 

4) being reconciled to God (Colossians 1:21-22)

 

5) being adopted by God (Romans 8:15)

 

6) being indwelled by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19)

 

7) having eternal life (Romans 6:23)
