This led me to difficult situations that I want to share with you. They are (unfortunately) sooo relatable… Things not to say to an anxious person? I’d love to hear your thoughts. info_outline Test anxiety is AWFUL! | Anxiety Chats S02E64Anxiety Chats
I had a really tough time with high school exams. My mental health was quite bad when I was at school with the anxiety and agoraphobia and my time seemed to be focused on keeping stable rather than exams and test anxiety. I remember crying at school from anxiety, feeling overwhelmed and freaking out. But all I got was scolded for "making it harder on the other students”. "I remember walking up to the school door and crying, like hysterical crying." I know I had the potential to be an "A" student with the right teaching methods. But the system never supported us – prioritizing my mental...

I suffered from breakup anxiety in a long-term relationship, and it was so hard to walk away from, even though I felt it was the right thing to do. My first relationship started when I was about 16 and lasted 6 years. In the end, we just fell out of love — I convinced myself that I’d never find another person who could love me with my anxiety. Giving birth is one of the most unforgettable and beautiful experiences! And although motherhood is amazing, it’s difficult and often overwhelming. So let’s talk about postpartum anxiety! I am joined by Jessica, a lovely first-time mom, who is struggling with depression and anxiety after having her baby. info_outlineImagine: growing up, dealing with bullies, and constantly switching schools, all because of communication and social challenges. And then, one day, discovering that you're an amazing autistic girl!
That’s the beginning of a story of resilience and bravery from the sweet Georgia-Leah, our dear guest in this episode. Georgia-Leah is an autistic girl who has experienced different anxiety disorders.
She had really hard times in primary school even though she was trying hard. “I couldn’t speak in lessons, people used to ask me questions and I wouldn’t be able to speak”.
The lack of support from the school made things even tougher, and she only found out about her diagnosis as an autistic girl when she was older, which made it even harder to adapt and cope.
But like a lot of people with autism and anxiety, she found an escape in the arts – theater was her big passion! On stage, she felt safe and free to be her authentic self.
In her 2020 journey working in the arts, she was invited by a teacher to join in a beautiful project dedicated to empowering and educating girls with autism and learning disabilities. Such important work!
Having a heart-to-heart with Georgia-Leah and hearing about her journey as an autistic girl was beyond amazing. I hope her story resonates with many other girls and women, making them feel seen, validated, and inspired by this incredible warrior. 🧡
Maybe you’re an autistic girl or boy too? Please, leave your thoughts below, I’d really love to hear them. 👇 🌟
