0002 - Review of Pen + Gear: Tamper Evident Deposit Bags

All right - so this is Renee Brooks and I am back here in...well with...Oven and Echoes for a review this time!

I am reviewing some Tamper Evident Deposit Bags that I got from Walmart and the creator of these "Tamper Evident Deposit Bags is Pen + Gear.

So, I was also going to leave this review also on Walmart's website but since I bought this in the store and I don't have the tracking, I'm not allowed to...Which I think is kind of weird so I'm like - I'm just gonna post this on my website because I'm allowed to talk about a product and say what I like about it; what I don't like about it. So initially, when I got these bags, they ARE decent like *rustles bag intensely* you know...very baggy...you know you can feel the bag...you can hear the bag...very baggy.

um...BUT

And they're decent. You know like the adhesive is decent. The quality of the plastic is decent; is very -like- slippery. It feels kind of...kind of...niche! Kind of nice. um BUT when you really start looking at the bag itself...if you were let's say like a bank or another financial institution looking at these bags...they're not very...I guess like professional? Because in the first box like it doesn't show it on the Walmart page but then I was able to take a photo of the bags that I got and granted...

I don't think...I don't think this matters but somewhere on the box it says...uh "Copyright 2021 Walmart Inc and Pen + Gear is a trademark of Walmart Inc", so I don't know if this is just an old version of the bags but when you look at the front of the bags and the first warning section there are two misspellings that are super obvious and it makes these bags kind of lose their credibility as being "tamper evident bags" which I shouldn't be expecting a lot from like a Walmart security tamper evident bag like but I was kind of sad because it says any attemp to reopen this bag so it's missing a "t" (Not Spoken: at the end of attempt)

and then there is another spot that says "if closure and/or bag is distroyed" and they spell it d i s t r o y e d that's kind of weird...BUT aside from that like there is there's also this weird section that has two different instructions for use...it's like...it's almost like someone said, "Hey let's put a whole bunch of instructions on this." and they're like "Well...wait-now that we have our first set of instructions...let's do a second set of smaller instructions in case if they don't understand the first set of instructions." which is very weird it just feels like this is kind of like a I don't know like a grab bag kind of thing be like who knows what you're gonna get with the quality of this product.

But

So if I had to rate it - if you need tamper evident deposit bags that like because pretty much once you seal these the only real way to get them back open is with scissors which is nice but then other than that like they don't necessarily feel super official like it it has stuff on the side that says it's a "tamper evident security system" but it doesn't actually doesn't look like it does anything to actually protect the bag or like to show that it was opened in some way or fashion...

But besides that like if I had to actually like recommend it like if you need it in a pinch like you ran out of like whatever bags you have-these can work in a pinch-there is enough space for you to be able to like write who it's being sent to, who's it from like who prepared the bag, the date that the bag was prepared, the account number that it's been deposited to, and the amount that you're actually depositing.

It's a little jank like so if if you're just starting out your business like these are solid you know like if you don't care about the misspellings easy peasy they're great bags if you care about like professionalism and how your brand is going to be perceived by others if anybody gives a good decent look at this bag it just it's icky it doesn't feel very professional in my opinion so I'm gonna go ahead and chalk this up that like you can buy it if you have to but don't expect much.
