How many times have you tried to go on a health journey with the main focus being to lose weight as fast as possible? I know I've done it tons of times. The truth is, focusing too much on weight loss be any means possible is not a health journey. It's just a recipe for misery and burnout. In reality, none of us can have success with a healthy lifestyle until we completely change how we define and understand true health. For us women, I believe it's been sold to us as endless cardio and salads. It is truly NOT that. Like I said, I've tried to lose weight tons of times and...

Back with another episode! This week we're talking about mediocrity vs. what I call "everyday extraordinary". Do you look around and see how many older adults lack confidence, seem miserable, and just look like they haven't challenged themselves in decades? What is it about the world that sucks us in and conditions us to settle and be comfortable? Why is this normal? I do not think young women should be mediocre. And that doesn't mean being the next Beyonce or girl boss! In this episode, I go over what I think mediocrity is and how to make sure you don't let yourself slip into the habit of...

Adulthood is mostly adapting to the constant change and evolution that life brings. When we move out, get married, have kids, etc. our lives of course are completelyyyyy different! Our parents' lives also change with us becoming adults and creating our own lives and families. I thought discussing these changes and the needs for boundaries and also GRACE with yourself and your family members was important as it seems like a lot of people our age have similar experiences. This episode is inspired by several conversations I've had with other young adults in the last few months. I noticed every...

Insecurities. We all have them. BUT, your 20s are a time to dig into them, face them, and HEAL. Most of our insecurities are plainly just untrue beliefs about ourselves. In this episode, I share my thoughts on how important it is to pin point the root cause/situation for these and even share a personal story of my own! Please make sure to rate, review, and subscribe to the podcast if you are enjoying it! Keep up with me on IG: @seannagregs

Whaddup, ragazze?? Listen, if you're from anywhere near the Philly area, you know the saying - NO ONE LIKES US, WE DON'T CARE!! Last Thursday was my birthday and I was really thinking about what I've been learning as I've gotten older and I thought of this lovely little slogan from Philly. And I realized, it's a good motto for life! If you find yourself still highly concerned with other people's opnions of you, you are not aging correctly, ma'am. Whaddup, ragazze! If you are a creative girl - this episode is 200% for you! I've always had that "shiny object" syndrome/slight scatter brain personality and I've always thought it to be a big weakness of mine. In our culture, we value kids who can just sit down and shut up and retain info in school and the creative brains are posed as less than the scientific and mathematic brains. While all are important since we need scientists and doctors, I don't feel like we highlight how creative people are the one's that make the world beautiful!! In this episode, I'm giving you the...

Whaddup, ragazze? Today I have my sister, Devyn, on to discuss what we've each learned from moving away from where we grew up. I'm sure a lot of you have had similar experiences. If you haven't and you get the chance, I'd say move away from your hometown even if it's just for a short time and even if it's only a town/city or two over! Removing yourself from a familiar environment invites so much growth and more specifically, it gives you the space to figure out who you really are without the influence of everyone and everything you've been affected by your whole life! Which is a good...

Remember when this podcast was called Tell Me About Your 20s and I quite literally just interviewed peeps about the important lessons they've learned or experiences they've had in young adulthood? Well, it was tough to produce and book people and record week to week, so I thought we'd make it a series on Better Millennial! Today, I've brought my fiance, Tyler, on to talk about how he has cultivated his core values while going through his 20s. We talk about things like loyalty, partnership, and putting yourself into uncomfortable positions to make the changes needed to grow! It's a great...
info_outlineWhy, yes, we are going to be talking about periods today!
How come? Because our periods tell us so much about our health and we are weirdly not taught enough about them! There's tons of debate on why we are not taught in depth about this part of our bodies and we won't get into that. But one thing is clear - lots of women work against their cycles in their daily and monthly routine and don't even know it!
Also, have you ever heard of your period referred to as your 5th vital sign? I never have! But we can learn so much about hormone imbalances and toxcity in the body simply by paying attention to our cycles. Tracking your cycle isn't just for when you want to have a baby!
Paying attention to what phase you're in throughout the month can help you structure your activities to work with your physiology! For instance, STOP TRYING TO DO HIIT WORKOUTS WHEN YOU ARE ON YOUR PERIOD. STOP IT. And stop beating yourself up for not going as hard in your workouts during this time! Your body is naturally in a phase where it's asking you to give it a few days to a week to just slow down.
In this episode, I'm going to discuss some period myths (did you know that cramps don't have to happen??), the phases of menstrual cycle, and foods you can eat to support each phase and help keep you feeling good all month long!
I'm going to be referencing the book In the Flo by Alisa Vitti in this epsiode, so most of the information will come from there.
I know everyone thinks it's weird and gross to talk about periods, but the truth is it's a huge marker of health for women and I definitely think we all need to know this information. It's our health!! Once you start paying a little more attention to where you're at each month, I promise you'll realize that your body was giving you different queues all month long since your very first period.
You can write it off as too "woo woo", I thought the same thing! But I'd ask you to just consider listening to this episode and consider taking more time to slow down and pay attention to your natural rhythm!
