Dissecting Effects
The Fairfield Barbershop is currently (as of 2023-06-11) my favorite overdrive pedal. The sound is really pretty nasty. It's not a smooth or pristine sound. It has a lot of randomness to the sound and it can get kinda weird for an overdrive.

The Eventide Rose has a ton of stuff going for it. Lots of great sounds and a really wild modulation section. For this one I even hooked up an expression pedal because it can meld between two different settings. It doesn't work for me for a few reasons, There is too much going on and I don't like presets. The knobs feel a bit cheap even though the body of the pedal is all metal. Just not enough resistance to the knobs for me.
