A lot of the time people say marketing they are not talking about full automation
- That is too hands-off most of the time
Systematized content creation: put in some work in the beginning and then the systems take care of the rest.
Videos are one of the best and most consumed types of media
Automation is something that is useful and that can put you far ahead of your competition
First thing that would help automating is knowing your audience
If you know the audience well then you likely know what message that would work and where to put it
Then create content for that group of people (aka your tribe)
Then you can get their feedback and then create more of what they’re asking for
- Pro-tip: or give them something you know they would love if it existed, if it makes sense scratch your own itch.
Once you have the raw content then have editors edit the big chunk into a lot of valuable little pieces of content.
- Example: You have a keynote of 45 minutes you can splice it up into 3 different 10-15 min videos
- Example 2: You have a 30 minute show, you can splice it into seven different 1minute snips of valuable information
For optimization:
- Write descriptions
- Make the descriptions contain the keywords that people would look for, hashtags if appropriate (ex: LinkedIn)
Distribute the pieces of content on RELEVANT channels
- Not all content is relevant for every platform.
- On Twitter some people might be interested on what you had for lunch, but LinkedIn that would be unprofessional.
- 1 minute videos for Instagram reels could be good | But 10 minutes on Instagram Stories might not be optimal
Optimize the thumbnails and description as time goes on
- One of the best things about evergreen platforms like YouTube, is that you can go back and change images and descriptions to optimize the video for views
- So for example it wasn’t performing well, if the content is really good, you can go and change the thumbnail/headline and it can have a huge impact on views
Have a CTA (Call to Action)
- Lastly with your videos and marketing communications there should be at least one call to action
