On this episode, I'm joined by the founder of Boardgains (IG: @boardgains.fit), Eric Mathura (IG: @islandgains). What is boardgains? It's literally a bootcamp in a box - a board game that is meant to get you active with your friends. Eric joins me in the studio to discuss the game, and his journey and how he took a simple idea and manifested it into launching an actual product. Listen in!

This week's podcast is one of the realest conversations thus far as I'm in the studio kicking it with the homie Tony Sidhu aka Blitzkrieg (@blitzmusic1). Tony has been in the South Asian hip hop scene since 2001. He shares a remarkable story of his recovery from a motorcycle accident last year that left him bed ridden for months as the world was locked in during this pandemic. His love for hip hop led to his most recent project: Demo Tapes which is the aftermath of his recovery from his accident.

On this podcast, my good friend, Gina Uppal joins me. Gina works at Western University as the Partnerships Lead in the Lab for Knowledge Translation in Health. The team is building a public health learning network to help connect community organizations, researchers, and decision-makers especially since COVID19 has exposed serious gaps in how evidence informs practice in public health.

The Toronto based spiced rum was started by my good friends, Hayden Currie and Iqbal Sandhu. Hayden (@rogerdiaz) has 15+ years of experience in the film industry. He wrote, produced and directed his own feature film, The Film Student Movie and his most recent film project, Platform, just won a number of film festival awards. He is part owner of the bar, Man of Kent, in Toronto and now launched his own spiced rum business.
Iqbal Sandhu is also part owner of the business and a lawyer by trade. Both Hayden and Iqbal grew up together, up north by the Georgian in Collingwood and Wasaga Beach. Tune into a jam packed episode as we talk about Island Diaz, stroll down memory lane, and get drunk.
Make sure to follow the Podcast on your listening platform and on social media to be up to date with a new episodes every week!
