Even when more and more people are waking up to the fact that we need to make this transition work towards becoming a clean energy Earth in the next few years, there are still people who don’t think it’s possible or it’s too hard and costly for them to take part in.

Yes, it isn’t easy. Yes, it won’t happen overnight. There might even be times when you’ll have thoughts of giving up and just going back to business as usual. However, if you’ll just continue to work at it and wait a bit longer, you might be surprised big time!
It’s definitely doable. We just have to decide that we want to do it and make it happen. In every little thing that we do, we are walking towards the change that drives us nearer to our goals.
Be into energy and be able to save your own energy as well. Keep advocating even when you’re not sure if someone’s listening. Someday, they will. Lead by example.
Joanne Coons is a retired High School teacher and currently an Adjunct Professor teaching PV theory, design, installation and maintenance at Hudson Valley Community College’s TEC-SMART northern campus.

People look at our lives and living lifestyle and think it is too expensive or too hard to achieve. We started with one step and then when we could we took the next step so what you see is an accumulation of 20 years worth of steps. As time goes on, you are saving money by reducing your energy expenses and you have more money to achieve the next step.

Aha Moment: “In regard to renewables, there was a professor, Dr. Richard Perez. I saw his peer-reviewed scientific study and I really respect him. He studies how much renewable energy it would take to completely be 100% renewable. He puts it into language in a way that he relates to common things that we understand. So, he suggests to be more local and have a grid so that we have balance. He also thinks that if we overbuild solar and wind to certain extent to maintain the intermittency, we should have enough electricity, and he has statistics to back it up.
