Nevada REALTORS® Today
A neglected half-acre lot in Northwest Reno was quietly turned into something the neighborhood didn’t realize it was missing. Now, people can bring their dogs, let them run safely, and use a space that has been sitting unused for years. This didn’t happen because of a massive budget or a long-term master plan. It happened because the association saw a practical problem up close and chose to get involved in a way that was collaborative. The work respected the surrounding community, partnered with both the city and the school district, and made use of resources most people...

Now that deadline day has passed in the Nevada Legislative Session, we’re starting to see which bills made it—and which ones didn’t. Out of the bills we’ve been keeping an eye on, quite a few have dropped off. Technically, nothing’s officially dead until the end of the session, but let’s be real, some of these aren’t coming back. In this episode, we’re talking about four bills that are basically done. From one that aimed to limit corporate homeownership to another proposing a statewide rental registry, these bills had good intentions. But in the end, they weren’t the right...

The Nevada legislative session has reached a key milestone - the bill introduction deadline is now behind us. That means all proposed bills should have been submitted to the Assembly or Senate by now. However, the process isn’t over yet. The bills will now move from the Assembly to the Senate, where they may be amended, and we'll take a look at those changes once they come back. One bill we’re paying close attention to is AB 540. This bill intends to find a solution for the supply side of real estate and encourage move-up home buying, which will free up much-needed...

We are a third of the way through the 2025 legislative session, and there are a few more key bills we’re monitoring. These bills affect us as real estate professionals, but also protect consumers and support private property rights. A really important bill that’s moving through legislation is centered on secondary fire insurance and how it’s affecting homeowners’ insurance. In light of the recent uptick in fires in Nevada and California, insurance companies are increasing rates or even canceling their coverage. As we know, homes can’t be sold without insurance. This will...
info_outlineReal estate is a high-visibility, high-pressure industry that requires us to go out and create business for ourselves.
Unfortunately, the demands of the job often leave agents suffering from burnout and struggling to balance family, business and their wellbeing.
How do we break out of burnout and set and achieve our goals but in a healthier way? For better or worse, whatever our current reality is, our mindset got us here. In order to run a business that doesn’t wear us down, we have to fix our mental hygiene first.
From there, we can start to set better goals - goals that won’t destroy our health and compromise our families.
Ultimately, mindset is the key to success in every area of our lives.
We can have all the right real estate strategies in the world, but without mindset, we won’t be able to hold onto that success long-term.
How do we get the buy-in of our families in our goals?
In this episode, we’re joined by mom, wife, REALTOR® and certified Life Coach, Christal Allen-Harrahill. She shares how agents can avoid the trap of burnout and how to build a business that won’t break you down later.
If we’re going about strategy with a messy mindset and not paying attention to our mental hygiene, we can have all the strategies in the world, but it’s not going to work. -Christal Allen-Harrahill
