The ADHD Creatives Podcast
Summary A note from Kristin: After recording my first audio journal entry, I realized that it was much easier to go off the cuff and tap into my creativity when I wasn't on medication. It seems, in most instances, medication helps me focus and stay organized, but I’ve also observed that it may be a barrier when trying new creative things. So what’s the plan? Right now, I'm planning to continue audio journaling daily as a practice and to see how the lack of medication affects my creativity. In this episode, I also share a story about advocating for myself, the emotions and...

Summary Hey everyone, Kristin Marts here - and I'm DEclutterIZING! That’s my word for decluttering and organizing, and it's pretty freaking difficult. My current main area of focus has been my overload of art and creative supplies. Are you the kind of person who loves being creative, but finds yourself with a ton of started projects and even more unfinished ones? I’ve been blaming my unfinished projects on my ADHD, but with my creative space in disarray, I’ve also realized how much this disharmony in my space keeps me out of the harmony I need to fully connect and...

A note from Kristin: After recording my first audio journal entry, I realized that it was much easier to go off the cuff and tap into my creativity when I wasn't on medication. It seems, in most instances, medication helps me focus and stay organized, but I’ve also observed that it may be a barrier when trying new creative things. So what’s the plan?
Right now, I'm planning to continue audio journaling daily as a practice and to see how the lack of medication affects my creativity. In this episode, I also share a story about advocating for myself, the emotions and internal reactions I observed during that experience, and how this situation gave me more insight about how I wanted to react without the aid of medication.
Creative Challenge of the Week:
This week’s challenge – If you are currently utilizing medication to help manage your ADHD, find an extended period of time where you may not be medicated. This doesn’t include times when, for example, your medication wears off at the end of the day then you take it again the following day.
I encourage you to gauge and then track your energy levels, your cognitive levels, your physical levels, or any other area of your life and self you want to observe, when engaging in creative activity.
If you want to share your findings with me, please do! You can submit your findings and other creative works to me at the website!
