If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. 37 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins and it will be spilled, and the skins will be destroyed. 38 But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins. 39 And no one after...

Past, Present & Future Louie Marsh, 12-28-2025 Verse: 17 O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. 18 So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. Psalm 71:17-18 (ESV) THE PAST – A Great Place to Visit but don’t LIVE THERE! 16 Thus says the LORD: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. Christmas Songs Pt. 1: Mary’s Song By Louie Marsh, 12-7-2025 In response to the situation at hand Mary recited a song which praised God’s favor on her and her people. “The Magnificat,” as the song is called, consists almost entirely of Old Testament allusions and quotations. The same is true of the songs of Zechariah and Simeon. Mary’s song has similarities to Hannah’s song. 1 Sam. 2:1-10 – First four verses on the PPT 1) Gratitude – for a PERSONAL relationship with God. “46And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, 47and my spirit rejoices in God my...

Wise Up! Pt. 7: The Foolishness of God by Louie Marsh, 11-30-2025 Today we want to talk about a kind of foolishness everyone needs to have in their life - the foolishness of God!! 1. Christianity appears to be FOOLISH “18For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18, ESV) 2. God DESIGNED it that way. “27But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28God chose what is low and despised in the world,...

Pt. 4, The Gospel Promises
By Louie Marsh, 9-21-2025
Intro. The last two weeks of this series.
What is the Good News? Well it's more than just what Jesus once did, and what He now is, it's also about what He now offers. Today the promises of the Gospel is what we'll look at.
REMEMBER!
The Gospel Events
· The Death and Resurrection of Jesus.
· These two historical events, and what they mean, are the heart of the Gospel.
The Gospel Witnesses
· Scripture
· Apostles Eye-Witness Testimony
The Gospel Affirmations
· Jesus is Lord
· Jesus is Savior
The Gospel Promises -
1) God in Christ will FORGIVE my sins.
· Forgiveness is ESSENTIAL to New Testament salvation.
“22Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.” (Hebrews 9:22, ESV)
· Jesus COMMANDED it preached
“45Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.” (Luke 24:45–47, ESV)
2) This promise EMPOWERED the Apostles.
“23If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”” (John 20:23, ESV)
· The Apostles ACTIONS proved what that statement meant.
“38And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins… (Acts 2:38, ESV)
“19Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out,” (Acts 3:19, ESV)
“43To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”” (Acts 10:43, ESV)
“38Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,” (Acts 13:38, ESV)
Jesus gave them the authority to preach boldly and with authority the terms of divine forgiveness.
3) Forgiveness is NOT POPULAR.
Because it forces you to take responsibility for what you've done, and to admit there are objective standards of right and wrong!
The good news of forgiveness is also the bad news that I'm a sinner who needs forgiveness! Without this there is no salvation!
4) The Second Gospel Promise
· Make Jesus your Lord and God will give you the HOLY SPIRIT.
“38… and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38, ESV)
The Gospel offers more than just forgiveness of our past sins.
It offers a new life in the present through the new birth and the Holy Spirit living in us.
· One vital aspect of the Ministry of the Spirit – NO FEAR.
“12So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,” (Romans 8:12–16, ESV)
He sets us free from sin
Sets us free from fear
Draws us near to God the Father
Claiming the Promise
Your Past, Present and Future can be assured today
By accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, repenting and being baptized you are assured of at least two things - forgiveness and the Holy Spirit!
