2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
Deuteronomy 1:11 “May the LORD, the God of your fathers, increase you a thousand-fold more than you are and bless you, just as He has promised you!
Deuteronomy 30:9 "Then the LORD your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the LORD will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; "
Let us Pray - Our Gracious and heavenly father, As I sit here opening myself up in prayer, I lift holy hands in total adoration to you. I am ever grateful, and thankful for just simply who you are. Lord, I thank you for going out ahead of me each day, I think you for rain and sunshine. …more of this wonderful and beautiful life. Amen.
Today, as I meditate on where I am in my life, just on the other side of 50 and approaching a birthday later this week. I feel so blessed to have done so many wonderful, and fun things, having been blessed to experience and live the life that I have, and I am so grateful for all of it. As I peer back but while standing flatfooted looking forward to the promise of the future I am leaping for joy, and even more thankful for it all.
A few weeks ago, I shared in a conversation with a colleague, she happens to be a physician and she discussed the fact that the neck does not allow us to turn our heads completely to the rear or to see what is behind us the same when in which we can see what is in front of us. She made a great point, and I expand it to think of it in this practical way.
When you are driving your automobile, they all have rear view mirrors. One above in the middle, one on the left and another one on the right. And if your care is fancy, you may even have a rear camera with a screen, that will show you what is behind you while you are backing up…. With all this technology to stay safe while backing up or while switching lanes. The front window in combination with the side windows is one of the largest areas on the front of a car. I say that because there is a reason for that. It is simple it’s in the design…. Because looking forward is also how our heavenly father or higher power designed us - to look forward and not backward.
I say all of this to emphasize the importance of when we look forward we put ourselves into a position to receive. Just like in basketball, we must be in the position to receive a pass, in football, our feet must be planted, and to go a step further - we must also be in bounds and have control over the ball after the catch, or it is ruled incomplete.
It also means - To be ready for the day or Carpe Diem (to Seize the day), and this can never happen when we are not focused on moving forward. Nor can it happen when we are not focused on receiving, focused on the catch and most importantly focused on the abundance that is available just for us. Reserved in the library of life, with our names on it. Be ready for it and Be ready to receive it.
I want you to get this, to plant it deep inside of you.
What is important about abundance:
Abundance is a Soul at Peace - what does it profit a woman to gain the whole world, and forfeit her soul? “For what will a woman give in exchange for her soul?” The evil one can offer you the world at a very high price.
Never agree to pay or to the terms that lead you to going in the wrong direction – It will cost you more than you are willing to pay, it will take you to places you never intended to go, and don’t belong – and It will keep you longer than you ever intended to stay, - it JUST COST way TOOO MUCH.
Abundance is contentment –The problem with all the counterfeits of the enemy and the world is that they leave us wanting more. We are not fulfilled, we wanted thanksgiving dinner but had fast food instead, and are still hungry. It leaves us just wanting more of the wrong things. … BUT the wonder of God is that His abundance comes with contentment. Here is what Paul said - “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. Because - I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”
Contentment is not found in how much we have but in who has us. God offers us the heart of contentment that is found not in treasures here but an eternity with Him.
Abundance is being free to be me - When I say free to be me, I to be the “me” that God created each one of us to be. You see abundance is found when we find and sought after and become what we were was made to be. This is no different that Daring2Dream. Daring to be bold, daring to try, dare to set out on faith and see what the end will be. This in part, is the major point of this podcast Dare2Dream.
I am not saying these are easy to achieve in the times that we live. But try, try and never give up.
Every day keep trying – Every Day keep doing the work, every day keep moving towards the high privilege of our calling… being free to live in the abundance of God our higher power and the Almighty alone.
