For the eighth person to connect with me on social media Instagram or Facebook.
Our scripture for this Podcast:
“Be strong and courageous and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God; my God is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished. (1 Chronicles 28:20)
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
Gracious God, we are grateful that you have given us hearts of strength and courage to dare to dream. Lord lead and guide us along the way so we can be more daring, so we can overcome every obstacle and walk into our destiny and dreams, Amen.
In daring to dream my hope and prayer is that everyone I touch on this journey forward will be somehow transformed in exactly who they were called to be. The deepest desire in my heart is that some small part of this podcast, the Facebook group or the coaching or webinars or book.
The most important in Daring to Dream is courage.
The 4 keys to Daring to Dream:
First Courage. According to Colin Powell courage is, Courage is not about self-aggrandizement or increasing your own power, or bravado, or desperate initiatives. It’s about the willingness to respectfully, relentlessly, and unapologetically challenge people – including the smartest, toughest people around you – in the pursuit of unit goals and performance excellence.” But for this type of courage, you need to first walk your talk. But wisdom is also part of true courage. We must seek the wisdom of God to know when to step and when to wait. When to seek, when to pray, when to fast. But not just the what but also the how.
Secondly Strength. Strength is a combination of courage and wisdom. There is no strength without first courage. Strength starts where courage ends; Strength is like muscle memory. Like the memory foam in products. When you use your muscles, they flex and build. When your muscles flex and build. Strength is the ability to impact change. Robert Schuller says, “Tough times never last but touch people do.” Take this all in and ask what does it mean to you. How will you strengthen yourself?
The Third Fortitude. Fortitude in its purest form is a synonym for courage and strength. It is courage in adversity; it is bravery. Or exhibiting bravery in the most difficult of circumstances. Think back to a time of your seemingly worst days, you felt depressed, your marriage or relationship was failing, or you did not have a relationship at all. You were by yourself, peering with pea green envy at the window other people’s happy lives. You were kicked out of school; you were fired from your job, your car was reposed, you were on the brink of losing everything…. BUT GOD.. had a fire of courage, strength, and fortitude burning inside of you to get up, to speak up, lift your head up, and to put just one foot in front of the other…. And before you knew it things began to change. Think back on this time not trying to forget but try to remember, how you felt, what you did to overcome, and the joy in your heart when you came through on the other side of your pain…. This is the type of fortitude I am speaking about. This is the thinking that allows you to think beyond common sense and get out of your own way.
Fourthly Belief. In the song from The Wiz staring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson, Lena Horn encourages Dorothy through the song “Believe” Believe you can use this experience to get through anything. Of course, I pray that you never reach that level again, but use what you have to get to where God is calling you. You can do it, what you want is BIG, it’s so big in fact it scares you to death. This is right where God wants you to be. A wise man Rev. Dr. Fowler of Akron Ohio shared in a talk I attended he shared that his only regret in life was that he did not dream bigger. He had not set his bar higher. So on today, Dare2Dream set your bar so high that it is out of your reach, You can’t even see it in the distance. What will happen is that you will begin to strive for the impossible goal, the impossible dream, and then with each day that passes, and your continued pursuit of it, it will be closer and closer, and you will achieve beyond your wildest dreams. But also, be sure to suspend in disbelief. Act as of success is for certain. And it certainly will be. Act like you have complete faith.
So a let’s recap.
The 4 keys to Daring to Dream:
So, daring to dream is when a dream doesn't become a reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work. But when you dare to dream, it must come from the heart if you really want it.
