- Islam means submission – ultimately submission to God
Muslims may lie if their life is threatened in order to advance Islam.
Quran 16:106: "Whoever disbelieves in Allah after his belief... except for one who is forced [to renounce his religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who [willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from Allah, and for them is a great punishment."
They may make alliances with unbelievers if they believe their life is threatened. (Quran 3:28: "Let not believers take disbelievers as allies [or protectors/friends] rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing [i.e., no association] with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence [or fear]. And Allah warns you against Himself [i.e., His punishment], and to Allah is the [final] destination.")
Sharia = divine ideal
Sharia Law - Main Sources
Qur’an – the primary source
Sunnah – the teachings and practices of the Prophet Muhammad
Ijmaʿ – scholarly consensus
Qiyas – analogical reasoning
Human interpretation of Sharia is called fiqh, which means jurisprudence.
2. Look at countries that have Islamic rule. (A literal reading of these verses)
Quran 2:191: “And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Haram until they fight you there; but if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.”
Quran 8:39: “And fight them until there is no fitnah [persecution] and [until] the religion, all of it, is for Allah. And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Seeing of what they do.”
Quran 9:5: “And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”
Quran 9:29: “Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture—until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.”
Quran 66:9: “O Prophet, strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh with them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination.”
Some Muslims interpret these verses as referring to internal jihad, not external. However, I believe this is clearly a misreading of the text. Jihadists are being more honest with the text. Whatever Muslims need to do to get someone to submit to this false god, they have the freedom to do.
Human rights in Saudi Arabia
Saudi authorities continue to arbitrarily arrest and detain people for peaceful expression, including activists, journalists, and online critics. Many face harsh prison terms, travel bans, and unfair legal processes.
Women’s rights: Women’s rights activists have been imprisoned or harassed for peaceful campaigning.
For example, many women, such as Loujain al-Hathloul, who supported the campaign against the ban on women driving, were imprisoned and harassed—despite the fact that the law was later changed to allow women to drive.

Human rights in Iran
Women’s rights: Iranian law and practice systematically discriminate against women, including strict enforcement of hijab.

Freedom of speech: Thousands of people have been arbitrarily detained, interrogated, harassed, or unjustly prosecuted for expressing their views or participating in peaceful protests.

3. American Government
Founded on Christian values – freedom, liberty, peace, truth, and the power of God working in our hearts
Constitution – three branches: Judicial, Legislative (Congress: Senate and House of Representatives), and Executive
Bill of Rights
Christianity
Not about physical submission
God changing individual hearts through His Word and the power of His Spirit
Us physically wanting to serve Him and submit to Him because of what He is doing in us
4. Moving Forward
· Assimilation, not domination – this is conducive to Christianity; Islam, at its core, is about physical domination.
· Assimilate to our language
· Assimilate to our laws
· Understand our history
· If you want this country to be dominated by Islamic laws, governed as a Muslim country, and all people to physically submit, you are going to face resistance.
· How do we resist as godly men?
o State clearly what we are not going to allow in our country
o Do it respectfully and lovingly
o But truthfully, as God-fearing men
o You have the right to believe and worship as you choose. However, that should never infringe upon the foundations this country was built on.
