From My Standpoint

The Civil War was the bloodiest war fought on American soil, and it was fought by Americans. But there have been many misconceptions about this time of American history; some are understandably so, and others are done intentionally. In this 4-part series we will take a look at some of the Civil War's forgotten history and dive a little deeper into the rough waters known as the history of slavery in America. (Special Episode) No Kings Day show art (Special Episode) No Kings Day

From My Standpoint

A powerful and provocative political poem that explores the erosion of liberty and constitutional principles in the face of unchecked executive power. Through vivid imagery and a rhythmic structure, we draw parallels between historical monarchy and modern political leadership—suggesting that while kings may not wear crowns today, their methods of suppression, censorship, and control persist under new guises. With this poem we critique the consolidation of authority, the circumvention of democratic process, and the silencing of dissent, all while calling you to recognize the fragility of...

Society has declined. We are told every day that racism is rampant, crime is surging, murder and shootings are becoming normal occurrences, education scores have plummeted, kids are becoming more and more disrespectful and violent, and morality, good character, and truth have been evaporating from culture.

Evolution states that all came from nothing and that out of randomness and chaos came order; we are told that the world should be getting better—more righteous, good, more enlightened, and more generous.

But is that really what we are seeing?

Or has something been removed, something foundational to a moral people and a society of order?

Let’s talk about this and see if we can’t, individually, answer this question of “What happened?”
