Micheal Kydd spent a lot of time working in politics and government as a conservative. While he did try mushrooms once at the age of 19, Micheal has always been as anti-drug as you can imagine. When Covid hit, Micheal found himself asking where his life was going and what type of impact he was truly making. Around the same time he came across some research on mushrooms. He found himself identifying existing problems in the industry and wondered what the government was doing on the regulatory and policy side. His lobbying work on the matter soon transformed into the unique space he is in now....
info_outlineChris Piazza saw his first glass pipe at the age of 14, and fell in love. He told all of his friends he wanted to blow glass. Eight years later he would find himself in Colorado finishing up some seasonal work at Copper Mountain, while playing with glass melting on the side. His roommate told him he should find someone to teach him glassblowing, and so Chris reached out on a forum. He ended up securing an apprenticeship with Rone Glass, whom he learned a lot from. Over the next 10 years he expanded his glass business, started a school, and taught others.
While working with about 100 glass shops, Chris’s partner suggested they open a distribution center. Thus, Canna Devices was born, and they now employ over 65 full-time artists. Chris says that when cannabis became legal, all the funding went after the growers, leaving the other half of the industry behind. This inspired Chris to start a nonprofit that helps small businesses, including glassblowers, to find capital and grow.
