Almas Akeem Sami is an African/Native American born in San Antonio, Texas. His interest in the Diversity project stems from his experiences from public to home school, early childhood exposure to racism. In his process of self discovery during homeschooling to becoming a Martial Artist and black belt and instructor in American Ju Kwon Do at the age of 16, African Music Drummer for several dance groups, community center mentoring/instruction through Martial Arts, PTAs as historian and President with all races and ages (particularly African American males). In working with his Baba (Swahili for Dad), he assisted as his advisor, IT admin/assistant website admin/video producer and camera man on public access TV production, advertising, assistant book editor and more from 1998-2014! Akeem as he is called as that is the name he chose with his family in changing his name at the age of 7 now serves as a parent of 4 with Kerri Hummingbird, is Network Engineer for Spectrum Communications, Massage Therapist/Martial arts instructor/Pranic Healer and Spirit guide under his company Sami Arts and Wellness in Austin, Texas.
