"It comes down to festival anchor dates, & you fill in around that, playing where you know you have a following, or want to build a following." Dallas got to Santa Cruz the "old school" way, a legendary musician, Robert Earl Keen (or Brian Duckworth) got him in touch with a "legendary promoter", Sleepy John Sandidge & Snazzy Productions, & he sold out the Ugly Mug last year; "Music is a lot of odd jobs." The Money Question? (Are you able to make money with your music, & if so, how?): A: Yes! "Very, very carefully...working very hard...but save some time & energy for your own family." Advice for the younger folks? "If you get into music, do it because you love it. Avoid being corrupted."
