Lifting the Lifters
In today’s episode, I share a personal story from a night our family life changed in an instant after my husband suffered a serious fall. What followed was something I’ve never forgotten: friends who showed up, stayed close, checked in, and served our family. We talk about why acts of service create such a deep connection, the science behind support and belonging, and how helping others can calm stress, build trust, and strengthen relationships. If you’ve ever been carried through a hard season or had the chance to carry someone else, this episode is for you. You were never meant to do...

When you feel better, you do better. When you feel loved, you give love. When you feel peace, you bring peace. When you feel joy, you emulate joy. In this week's episode, we discuss daily restoration items to help increase our capacity to handle stress and connect with and love others! These begin with a connection to ourselves and with God. We are spiritual beings having a mortal experience, but we don't always remember that or have a hard time separating the two. We discuss how journaling, reading the Book of Mormon, heart connection, and gratitude help us to connect...

Jay Shetty, a coach, monk, and host of the "On Purpose with Jay Shetty Podcast," has a phrase he uses often. He says, "A mile wide and an inch deep." He uses this to describe a lack of depth in modern life, knowledge, or relationships. He points out that while we have access to vast amounts of information (a "mile wide"), we rarely take the time to truly understand or apply it deeply (only "an inch deep"). In this podcast we discuss adding depth to our knowlege. Rather than accepting our miles worth of surface level knowlege, actually digging and going deeper. I relate this...

This week on the podcast, I’m sharing a simple experience that turned into a powerful reminder! It started with something small… selling a rowing machine. In a moment of overwhelm and decluttering, I listed it quickly without much thought, only to find out that I had drastically undervalued it. Instant regret! The “why didn’t I think this through?” But underneath that reaction was a deeper lesson: We do this same thing to ourselves all the time. We confuse our worth with our value! We assess it based on our productivity, our performance, how we show up, or how others respond to us....

I love all of the traditional Easter celebrations. The egg hunts, the bunnies, the chicks, and the dying hard-boiled eggs to go from white to vibrant colors! What if, alongside all of the traditions, we took a chance to also reflect. In this episode, I’m sharing a simple invitation to remove the noise, reconnect with Christ, and realign with what matters most. Small, intentional shifts can bring powerful peace. Listen in to gain some insight and some ideas on what you can do to fill your Easter with more peace.

Anger is one of the most misunderstood emotions. We either justify it or try to suppress it, but rarely do we stop to ask what’s actually underneath it. In this episode, we’re exploring the emotional iceberg and why anger is often just the surface emotion. Beneath it can be hurt, rejection, fear, or feeling unseen. Until we understand that, we stay stuck in the same reactive patterns. If you’ve ever felt frustrated, snapped in a moment, or wondered why certain things trigger you more than others, this episode will help you see your emotions in a completely new way. Because anger isn’t...

Friendship can be one of the most meaningful parts of our lives. It can also be one of the most vulnerable. This week on the podcast, I’ve been thinking about a phrase from the Old Testament that has stayed with me: “Consider your ways.” As I sat in a lesson at church, I started thinking about my own relationships, my ministering, and the ways I show up for the people around me. Life gets busy. We focus on our families, our responsibilities, and the many demands of daily life. Sometimes without realizing it, we stop looking up long enough to see the people around us who might need...

This week I found myself cleaning out a bedroom after one of my kids moved out, and what started as a simple room clean-out quickly turned into a whole-house decluttering project. As we sorted through years of accumulated memories, we kept asking the same question: Do I want this anymore? Do I need this? Do I even use this anymore? It made me realize that we often hold on to things in our lives the same way we hold on to physical clutter — thoughts, behaviors, reactions, and beliefs that may have once served us but no longer do. In today’s episode, we talk about learning to pause, look...

There are to factors that impact every single human on the face of the earth. Do you know what they are? Health Money Those two factors influence our families, opportunities, and really everything! They require time, attention, and intention. This week, I had the opportunity to speak to a group of sophomore to senior girls in a body sculpting class, and what unfolded was deeper than sets and reps. We talked about the health aspect and where our health resides....in our bodies. How we care for our bodies, our decisions, our food, and our exercise isn't just a matter of...

info_outlineIf you are in our home, you'll more than likely hear Jarred, or one of us say, "That was WAY good!" It is one of those one-liners that we use often.
We use it to celebrate and notice the good, and accentuate it with "Way Good!"
We forget or underestimate the power of our words. The words we say, we speak, and think change how we feel. When we say something is good and way good, it signals to our brain and nervous system that everything is OK. We Are safe, not in danger, can relax, be present, enjoy, and connect.
I wondered what would happen if we all started to look for the "Way Good" moments and cultivate them? How would life change and be different?
I think it would be Way Good!!!
The most prominent instances in scripture where something is described as "good" are found in the creation account in Genesis. In the first chapter of Genesis, God repeatedly assesses His work and declares it "good."
Here is a breakdown of those moments:
* Genesis 1:4 - After creating light, "God saw that the light was good."
* Genesis 1:10 - After separating the land from the sea, "God saw that it was good."
* Genesis 1:12 - After creating vegetation, "God saw that it was good."
* Genesis 1:18 - After creating the sun, moon, and stars, "God saw that it was good."
* Genesis 1:21 - After creating sea creatures and birds, "God saw that it was good."
* Genesis 1:25 - After creating land animals, "God saw that it was good."
* Genesis 1:31 - After creating humanity (man and woman) and surveying all of His work, "God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good."
This culmination on the sixth day is particularly significant, as the creation of man and woman completes the creation week, and God's final assessment is elevated from "good" to "very good."
Or in this instance: “Way Good!”
We are Way Good!
As we understand that, embody that belief that we are way good, look for the moments of way good, then we can practice cultivating those moments into our lives and be a source of it for others!
