Love, Melissa with Meals and Memories

Here on Love Letters, we walk love out in our lives. Today we are going to discuss how, actually how, we can fulfill the second greatest commandment to love thy neighbor through meals and memories made at home with one of my nearest and dearest friends, Melissa Tate.

Melissa is a food writer, home maker, hostess, gatherer, encourager, supporter, and believer. Today she is going to share how she developed a heart for hospitality and guide us in practicing hospitality ourselves as in Romans 12:13. We are going to talk about how she slowly transitioned from her stable job to branch out and stretch her creative muscles as an entrepreneur.

Romans 12:13

 

Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
