Scaling Deep: The Membership & Marketing Podcast
Most membership owners don't have a marketing problem, a content problem they have a messaging gap. In the mature market of 2026, people aren't joining programs just to "try things" anymore; they need to see a specific, measurable transformation before they click buy. In this episode, we cover: The 3 Common Messaging Mistakes: Why describing "general overwhelm" fails to land, how to avoid being too broad, and why you must give members a "taste of the how" so they believe the work is actually doable. Weāve been taught that slow growth is the "safe" and "sustainable" choice. But what if your slow pace isn't actually strategic? What if itās just expensive? In this episode, Iām challenging the idea that moving slowly is always a virtue. While I'm a huge fan of sustainability, there is a massive difference between a "slow business movement" and being stuck in a cycle of hesitation, over-preparing, and "make-work" projects. If you have a mission to reach thousands but youāre spending your year perfecting a platform instead of your message, you arenāt being patientāyouāre losing...

A potential client recently asked me: "What can you do for me that AI canāt?" Itās a question every membership owner needs to be ready to answer in 2026. Information has become a cheap commodity. If your membership is just a library of "how-to" videos and templates, you are in the danger zone. AI can brainstorm ideas and summarize data, but it canāt provide the sound wisdom, nuanced context, or human empathy required to make high-stakes business decisions. In this episode, Iām breaking down the massive shift from resource-based memberships to results-based communities and how you can...

What do you do when your membership sales feel like a slow trickle, or August hits and everything goes quiet? info_outlineThere's nothing wrong with being a coach, but that's not exactly why you'd create a membership, right? To have your members co-dependent on your response to every question? Nope!
This is a trend I'm starting to notice.
When memberships ...
1) Give away so much they make other profitable upsells irrelevant š
2) Replace the coaching relationship only you don't get paid for it š
This is exactly the debacle my VIP client had, until we retooled her program on Monday. She LOVES her membership but also felt like she was overcommitted to weekly calls + content delivery and had created a kind of co-dependency on her. Her model wasn't scalable.
She was too focused on responding to everything members asked about instead of leading them forward. Which, actually, as it turned out meant delivering a lot less to her members who couldn't keep up with it all anyway. Instead, she's creating a long-term roadmap they can follow. Dead simple.
