Each year when February rolls around, I find myself in a bit of a rush to prep for Valentine’s Day. There’s something about holidays that happen in the first half of the month that somehow leaves me a bit unprepared. If that’s the case at your house, I hope you’ll find plenty of great titles to place on your library list, pull off the shelves at home, or purchase through a vendor that will get everyone in your house ready to celebrate a day set aside for Love! Additionally, February is also Black History Month. 2020 was a year that called all of us to grow in our knowledge and awareness of Black History, our society’s role, and our own role within society. Whether or not you answered that call and chose to grow within those areas, this month allows us an additional chance to do so, with our little ones. The amount of fantastic literature available for Black History month is overwhelming and amazing. I know I won’t cover every book that deserves recognition, but I hope you find many titles that lead to incredible conversation in your household. Bonus- One of my wonderful listeners made a suggestion that I’m happy to oblige and work with. She asked that I denote on my booklist which books were talked about in the podcast, since they tend to be the Best of the Best. You’ll now notice a plus sign after each book on the booklist that has been given time on the podcast. In an effort to always save time for busy parents, I hope this feature makes your book check-outs even faster! And as always, there are many additional books and subcategories available on my booklist on Mrs. B’s Books.com! Let’s Begin!!
