Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I highlight the importance of awareness in recognizing these limiting beliefs. I discuss how our subconscious can drive us back to familiar patterns, often leading to self-sabotage. I encourage listeners to confront these thoughts and reframe them, asking themselves whether they are valid. Doing so can interrupt the negative loops that keep us from reaching our full potential. Things can become easier, but they never truly become easy. As we grow, we often confront subconscious beliefs that can hinder our progress. I candidly share my experiences of feeling nervous and...

Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I explore how we can shift our mindset from feeling like an imposter to embracing our authority. I start by posing a thought-provoking question: How would you like to perceive imposter syndrome differently? I emphasize that authority doesn't have to be a triggering term; it can simply mean owning your life and your message. Throughout the episode, I discuss the common reasons behind imposter syndrome, such as caring deeply about our work and comparing ourselves to others who seem more experienced. I highlight the importance of recognizing that we often compare our beginning to...

Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I share some stats about the sheer volume of daily thoughts—between 60,000 and 80,000, with a staggering 80-90% being repetitive and predominantly negative. This repetition can create thick neural pathways in our brains, reinforcing doubts, fears and limiting beliefs. I use a vivid analogy comparing our thoughts to a hairdryer cord, illustrating how negative thoughts can become strong and durable while positive thoughts often remain fragile and underdeveloped. Throughout the episode, I encourage listeners to recognize the power of their language and internal dialogue. I...

842 | Judgment Is a Mirror — And NLP Holds the Key to Compassion show art 842 | Judgment Is a Mirror — And NLP Holds the Key to Compassion

Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I share the idea that judgment acts as a mirror, reflecting our internal beliefs and feelings. We all have our own internal representation of the world, and each person perceives the world through a unique lens shaped by experiences, values, and emotions. This leads to the realization that trying to change someone else's perspective can be a waste of energy, as they are likely operating from their own internal map of the world.  The judgments we fear from others often stem from our self-judgment. Judgment can trigger unresolved beliefs within us, and I emphasize the...

Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I’m sharing the importance of challenging our thoughts and the profound impact they can have on our lives. We are not our thoughts; we are human beings experiencing thoughts. With an astonishing 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts racing through our minds each day—most of which are negative and repetitive—it's crucial to recognize that these thoughts are not facts. They are merely programming we have internalized over the years, often without even realizing it. Throughout the episode, I challenge listeners to confront their inner dialogue. I ask, "Why do we accept our thoughts as...

Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In today’s episode, I reflect on recent experiences with clients who have faced toxic coaching situations in the past, emphasizing that coaching should not simply provide answers or only focus on the client’s goals, instead can they help clients uncover the underlying barriers that prevent them from reaching their goals. I share my belief that strategy constitutes only 5% of the equation, while subconscious work—addressing limiting beliefs and emotional blocks—makes up the remaining 95%. Throughout the episode, I stress the significance of getting to the root of why individuals feel...

More Episodes

In this episode, I am sharing the concept of creating results using your conscious vs your subconscious mind, and the difference between the two.  Conscious change is hard, takes consistent effort and feels like you're starting over and over again. Conscious change is using ~ 5% of your brain's capacity and ability to create change.  Subconscious change is using the 95% powerhouse part of your brain), creates effortless, lasting change.

In today’s episode we discuss:

1)  Conscious change includes writing more to do to lists, journaling your goals, making another vision board, creating another plan to start again, hiring another coach, buying another program thinking this is going to be the one that fixes it.  Strategy is only a tiny piece of the puzzle.

2) Subconscious change includes getting to the root of the issue, uncovering the subconscious blocks, limiting beliefs as to why you might not fully believe that it is possible for you, and using tools and techniques to anchor in the changes you desire to create. All of this sets you up for success to create lasting change with ease and effortlessness.

3) I am sharing that this past week I worked with 3 clients on tools and techniques to change behaviours that they have been "fighting, shaming themselves for, and starting and re-starting over and over again."
