Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I am sharing the idea that the work we often resist is, in fact, the very work we are meant to embrace. I reflect on my own journey of resisting self-care, slowing down, and tuning into my own needs, which I now recognize as essential to my personal and professional growth. For years, I believed that hard work and relentless hustle were the keys to success, but I have come to understand that true fulfillment lies in balancing ambition with self-care. Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I'm excited to dive into the fascinating topic of the nervous system and its role as our internal GPS. I want to explore how our nervous system influences our ability to pursue our goals, particularly in the context of writing a book. As my publishing house expands and I embark on my next solo project, I reflect on the importance of feeling safe in our pursuits. If our nervous system perceives those goals as unsafe, we will struggle to move forward. Our conscious mind can set a direction, but it is our nervous system and subconscious mind that ultimately determine whether we...

883 | How Your Beliefs Are Blocking Your Ability to Receive More show art 883 | How Your Beliefs Are Blocking Your Ability to Receive More

Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I explore the concept that our ability to receive—whether it be love, money, success, or visibility—is intricately tied to the beliefs we hold about ourselves. I emphasize that beliefs are essentially thoughts we repeat, often subconsciously, which create a filter through which we perceive the world. This filter can either open us up to abundance or limit us based on our self-worth and perceived safety. Throughout the episode, I illustrate how limiting beliefs can act as a "kink in the hose," blocking our ability to receive. I share a powerful example of a client who...

Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I reflect on the first six months of 2025 and how I unpack them before setting goals for the remaining six months of the year. It’s essential to acknowledge our resilience and the ways we responded during challenging times. Instead of focusing solely on external validation, I encourage listeners to reflect on their own internal growth and the lessons they have learned. There is this idea of a "gap" between our lofty goals and the subconscious beliefs that may hold us back. This gap can manifest as self-doubt, procrastination, or a fear of visibility. Our subconscious mind...

Own Your Choices Own Your Life

In this episode, I share some insight on how I shift myself through indecision. The real issue isn't the decision itself but the time and energy we spend in the indecisive state. Prolonged indecision can lead to an energy leak, as we worry about disappointing others or making the wrong choice. I share the concept of training our brains to make aligned decisions more quickly and confidently. Our subconscious mind plays a significant role in our decision-making patterns, often leading us to avoid discomfort and fear associated with making choices. I encourage listeners to recognize that...

Today, I speak with Published Author, Dr. Salvatore Forcina. Dr. Forcina is a retired general, vascular, and trauma surgeon who served as the Chief of Surgery at two North Jersey hospitals for years and treated thousands of patients.

He is also the author of The American Doctor. This inspiring memoir chronicles his extraordinary journey from humble beginnings in war-torn Italy to becoming a highly respected physician in the United States.

Born in 1941 amidst the chaos of World War II, poverty and hardship marked Dr. Forcina's early years. Throughout the war, his family lived in the mountains with other villagers. After it ended, they moved to Argentina when he was eight, in search of a better life. However, the move presented new challenges, including language and cultural differences.

To ensure his education, Dr. Forcina's parents sent him to live with priests, where he faced a strict and isolating environment. Despite these difficulties, he excelled in his studies and went on to become a medical doctor. At the age of 28, with only $40 in his pocket and no command of the English language, Dr. Forcina immigrated to America; however, his medical degree was not recognized in the United States.

Determined to practice medicine in the U.S., he worked as a hospital tech for three years, drawing blood for a meagre $16 a day while taking foreign equivalency exams to be allowed to begin medical residency. It wasn't until eight years after he arrived in this country, at the age of 36, that he was finally able to begin practicing as a young, unrecognized physician.
