Become a problem solver! Here are six practical steps to become part of the “elephant removal team” for a healthier work culture:
1. Dump the arrogance. Approach your leader or team members with a spirit of humility and a genuine desire to help the organization.
2. Don’t blame someone personally. Shift the focus from the individual to the organization.
3. Be clear about the negatives. How much does ignoring the elephant in the room cost the organization in quantifiable terms related to finances, resources – and even employees lost because of it.
4. Be clear about the positives of removing the elephant. Highlight the potential outcomes of addressing the issues and cast vision for the future.
5. Include everyone on the elephant removal team. Make it a team effort to foster collaboration.
6. Don’t take sole credit for the removal. Acknowledge the contributions of the team.
Unresolved issues can hold your ministry or organization back. Become part of the elephant removal team for a more productive and healthier work culture.
