*More About This Episode* I’ve Failed. Now What?
Resilience is the ability to come back from failure. If you’ve failed or been rejected, these five steps can be the key to help you move past failure and on to success:
1. Don’t overthink it. Don’t get obsessed thinking about what you could have done better.
2. Don’t take it personally. It’s easier said than done, but learn to separate criticism of the project from criticism of you.
3. Find objective advice. Find another experienced person that you trust and run the project by them for a second opinion.
4. Ask for constructive criticism. At the moment of failure or rejection, keep a cool head and ask for constructive criticism.
5. Don’t let failures derail your dream. It happens! Keep moving forward.
Don’t be afraid to fail, especially if you’re expanding your tent poles. If you’re breaking new ground or trying new things – that’s not the time to be timid! That’s the time to try things, and if you fail, learn from your failures and move on.
