Practical Shamanism
In this episode of Practical Shamanism, I explore the concept of the personal economy—the energetic and practical ecosystem of your financial world—and how to work with it intentionally in times of collective uncertainty. Rather than getting swept up in fear or overwhelm about national or global economics, I invite you to turn your attention inward. We’ll talk about: Why our brains aren’t built to grasp large-scale economic systems How past life vows and spiritual conditioning might be influencing your money experience The importance of tending your energy body (especially the...

In this episode of Practical Shamanism, I share my deep affinity for rocks and crystals, exploring how they can serve as powerful energetic allies. While some practitioners connect deeply with plants or symbols, my personal journey has been profoundly shaped by crystals—especially Herkimer diamonds. I discuss how crystals can help sensitive individuals manage overwhelming energy, protect against external influences, and maintain energetic integrity. Whether you’re navigating the psychic noise of the world, seeking grounding and balance, or simply drawn to the wonder of these natural...

In this episode of Practical Shamanism, I take a deep dive into soul retrieval—one of the most transformational and foundational practices in my shamanic work. While I’ve often alluded to it in previous episodes, I realized I hadn’t yet devoted a full discussion to this life-changing process. I share my personal journey of discovering soul retrieval, the profound impact it had on my own healing, and why I consider it the single most powerful intervention I can offer. We’ll explore: ✨ What soul retrieval is and why it’s found in shamanic traditions across the world ✨ How soul loss...

In this episode, I explore how our fight-or-flight instincts—like a high-energy dog living in a small apartment—can create challenges in our modern lives. Using metaphors and insights, I share strategies for calming overactive instincts, completing stress cycles, and cultivating inner peace. Key topics include: Understanding the fight-or-flight response in today’s world. Why our instincts often feel like a neighbor’s yappy dog. Tools and techniques to "train" your inner dog for a calmer life. How calming your stress response improves physical and emotional well-being. Whether you're...

In this episode of Practical Shamanism, I dive into what might get in the way of fully living your soul purpose. Inspired by Julia Cameron's playful take on artistic blocks and insights from one of my own teachers, I explore some of the reasons we might feel disconnected from our path. This includes: How we often stay loyal to outdated dreams or pre-incarnation plans, and why it's so powerful to pivot when something no longer feels right. The impact of stress, fatigue, and living in "fight or flight" mode on our intuition, making it harder to see possibilities and opportunities. The...

In this podcast, I challenge a popular meme that suggests we should be grateful for the present because in 20 years, we'll wish we could return to where we are now. I strongly disagree with this notion. Those who listen to this type of podcast are actively investing in a future where they have greater physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Modern culture bombards us with toxic ideas that chip away at our peace and happiness. Learning to "weed the garden of your mind" is an essential skill, and the belief that everything will worsen with time is one of the most damaging weeds to pull....

info_outlineIn addressing addiction, it’s valuable to understand ourselves through a compassionate lens. Your intensity of need for the thing you’re trying to let go of may be outdated. And it can be helpful to understand how your own biology may push you in a not so healthy direction if you don’t know how to provide it with adult supervision.
This approach is more aligned if a) you have the ability to sit with some emotionality, at least briefly, even if you don’t much enjoy it and b) your addiction is something important to address but not something that any additional usage will create an immediate and terrible detrimental result in your life.
My guides offer an approach that honors both the part of you that prizes the pleasure and relief that substance or behavior provides as well as the part of you that is invested in long-term health and well-being. When we’ve been fight with ourselves over an addiction for a long time, those parts become polarized and stuck in a massive power struggle. This work offers a path of reconciliation that puts your inner wise person in the role of the benevolent mediator that works for the good of both aspects.
