This week’s episode is full of heart, humor, and hope as we talk about the changing seasons of life and parenting. This week’s episode is equal parts celebration and reflection. We’re recapping Angela’s “50 & Fabulous” birthday weekend in Franklin full of fun, laughter, and meaningful moments with the people she loves most. But beyond the celebration, this milestone sparked some honest questions we’re all invited to consider in any new season: What do I want to carry forward? What am I ready to leave behind? How do I want to show up for the people who matter most? We talk about releasing expectations, embracing presence, and learning to celebrate the “little things” that make up a...

In this episode, we’re talking about everything from Oura rings and energy drinks to funny church stories, bucket list dreams, and those “come along with me” friendships we all need. But underneath it all, we keep coming back to one question: What is actually filling us? Because no supplement, habit, or routine can replace the true source of peace, strength, and joy. “Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.” — 1 Thessalonians 2:8 If you’re trying to get healthier, live fuller, and stay...

What do glow-in-the-dark pickleball, space missions, and a scalp massage have in common? Honestly… we’re still not sure. 😄 This week’s episode is classic Rambling Through Everyday Life, from Fran’s nighttime pickleball tournament to our thoughts on Artemis II, a Tennessee Supreme Court session on Union’s campus, and a surprising new favorite card game (SkyJo, anyone?). We also talk about rising star Emily Ann Roberts (aka Yeehaw Mamaw 🤠), share a powerful quote from Dr. Caroline Leaf, and reflect on legacy, memory, and what really lasts, especially as Angela remembers...

Happy Easter Monday, friends! This episode is full of our favorite kind of conversation: real life, real faith, and a little bit of everything in between. We talk about our Easter traditions, what Holy Saturday teaches us about rest and waiting, and wrestle with a question that really matters: "what’s the big deal about Jesus?" We keep coming back to this: without the resurrection, there is no Christianity. It’s the reason for our hope and the foundation of everything we believe. You’ll also hear about Fran’s upcoming NYC ministry opportunity, our new memory verse (Jeremiah...

Pack your bags, grab your passport (real or imaginary) and get ready for some fun with our fabulous guest and adventure expert, Lisa Houston! We talk travel ideas for every budget, both local and abroad, and you will love hearing Lisa's recap of her recent adventures including Iceland, Italy and the Exumas. Lisa also reminds us we don't have to go far to have an adventure, and that every new experience is either "a good time or a good story." We hope you agree that travel isn't just about where we go, but how we dream, explore and experience the world around us. Listen to Lisa’s...

This episode is a little bit of everything and the kind of rambling conversation we love most. We share stories from recent adventures, including a trip to the Walmart Museum in Bentonville, a mission trip to Honduras (yes, there’s a cow involved), and a few memorable characters along the way including Abraham the goat. We also talk about some meaningful ways people in our community are serving others, from caregiver support groups to a creative “Egg My Yard” fundraiser that’s bringing neighbors together. But in the middle of all the stories, we land on a deeper question: What is...

Today we’re talking about estate planning, not from a place of fear but from a place of love and making things easier on our families one day. We discuss why planning ahead matters, how it reflects biblical stewardship, and the simple steps that bring clarity instead of confusion during life’s hardest moments. We answer lots of questions including: What documents do I need? What is a trust and how is that different from a will? What questions should I ask my aging parents? What does my adult child need and why? How do I get started? What is my next step towards estate...

info_outlineThis week, we are joined by our dear friend and best-selling author, Susannah B. Lewis. You will love Susannah's humor and authenticity as we discuss our faith and the challenge she placed before us at the Rooted and Rising Women's Event last month. We talk about the four types of soil and the condition of our hearts, and Susannah shares what prompted her to grow deeper in her relationship with the Lord.
We hope that with each and every episode, you will find us talking about Jesus in our everyday lives while also learning, being challenged, and growing together, while loving and laughing about what makes up our everyday lives. We are so thankful Jesus is right there with us in the middle of it all.
Favorite quotes from this episode:
In praying for wisdom, the Lord gave me the desire for His Word. We have to be rooted in God's Word, or there is no fruit.
God wants to transform our hearts! Ezekiel 36:26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."
There is a difference between being saved and being surrendered.
The fruit doesn't come from dipping the plant in the soil. It has to be rooted there.
As I am growing spiritually, my thoughts have changed. My interests have changed. I am so on fire for the Lord that He has taken priority in my life, and my social media reflects that.
I have come to know just how much I need the blood of Jesus, which in turn makes me bolder to speak that. We are called to be bold! That's what he wants from us!
The older we get, the more hungry we become for the scriptures! We better understand what Jesus did for us, and we do not take that lightly!
If we are struggling to fast from something, it has become an idol.
We should be grieved by what grieves God. Our whole lives are a war between the flesh and the spirit.
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23
Just because someone is older, that doesn't mean they are wise. Look for the fruit. Don't take spiritual advice from someone who is not in God's Word.
We can be aware of what is going on in the world without being consumed by it. We will drift if we aren't actively drawing closer to the Lord.
Ecclesiastes 1:18 "The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow."
Our memory verse for October: 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline."
