Living off the grid is possible. My cabin has off grid water and sewer. As soon as I get some solar panels I'll have a completely off grid cabin. Buff Orpingtons are a great chicken breed. There is nothing like a big poofy gold hen. Buff Orpington hens tend to be broody, so if your looking to raise some chicks the natural way, get a couple Buff Orpingtons.
