Sea Hawkers Podcast: for Seattle Seahawks fans

In a game of inches, we ended up a few yards short and to the right. In a frustrating loss where Sam Darnold must take most of the blame, there were other moments and aspects, good and bad, that added to this tough loss to our largest rivals, the Rams. There were some good points to focus on, too. Defensive efforts come under the spotlight, notably the exceptional play from Tariq Woolen, a crucial tackle for loss by Boye Mafe, as well as the importance of second-half adjustments. Some surprising stats jumped out as we dug into the box score, too. While it felt like most of the pressure came...

Defensive Dominance Wasted? Seahawks Nearly Overcome QB Meltdown show art Defensive Dominance Wasted? Seahawks Nearly Overcome QB Meltdown

Sea Hawkers Podcast: for Seattle Seahawks fans

The Seahawks had a masterful performance on defense to keep the game within reach in the final seconds of the game. Ultimately, the loss to the Los Angeles Rams comes down to critical mistakes and costly turnovers by Sam Darnold. However, he did bounce back from his four interceptions to give Jason Meyers a shot even after the offense was pinned at the 1-yard line by the Rams special teams unit. The offense also suffered a major injury in the final moments of the game that is likely going to test the depth of the offensive line and put further stress on Darnold down the stretch. Tune in to our...

We're still flying high after another dominant Seahawks victory over the Arizona Cardinals. It's not just the win -- but how they were able to do it. Tyrice Knight, Ty Okada, Nehemiah Pritchett and Drake Thomas weren't guys we were expecting big contributions from at the beginning of the season, and now they're a big reason to be excited about the defense. With the Rams game coming up on Sunday, it will be the biggest test yet for the Seahawks. Ernest Jones and Cooper Kupp get to face off against their former team, but it may also be a revenge game for Sam Darnold based on how last season went...

The Seahawks dominated the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday on their way to a 44-22 victory. At the midpoint of the season, the Seahawks are 6-2, but they found another way to lose in frustrating fashion. According to Adam, this was even more frustrating than the loss to the Cardinals, because the team played whatever the opposite is of complementary football. Instead, each phase of the game contributed to something that made it more difficult for another phase. Whether it was giving up a big return on special teams, untimely turnovers, or making a terrible decision on defense when it mattered most, each phase found a way to contribute to the loss. But it's not just on the players, or on the coaches, there is blame to share throughout the organization for some of what we're seeing on the field.

Fortunately, for a defense that seems to have most of their difficulty with mobile quarterbacks, there aren't many left on the schedule. Jared Goff is the next man up to face this Seahawks defense. Can the team make the necessary adjustments based on issues we've seen in the recent loss to the Bills and some of the previous games as well? Will an improved offensive line be able to slow down Aaron Donald? But maybe the most fun matchup will be seeing DK Metcalf going up against Jalen Ramsey.

The last team to face the Los Angeles Rams was the Miami Dolphins. Not only did Miami win that game, but they also beat the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Sam Marcoux, of the podcast Welcome to Perfectville, joins the show to take a victory lap for their "perfect record" in the NFC West.

Also in the second half of the show, we remembered to announce the latest winner of the Tiny Piece of Seahawks Stuff, but we forgot to bring the latest trivia question (even though Jeremy explained the origin of all the work that went into it). Congratulations go out to Iupati Mouth for the win in the pick'em league this week. Philip Rivers and a Seahawks petitioner land in the Do Better segment this week. While a small town gets cute in their political efforts and our veterans earn Better at Life honors.
