I'm Peter Szpakowski, and welcome to the 'Shutter Speed' Where a powerful first impression can change your life. I have been a branding specialist for over 15 years. For those 15 years, I have been a professional photographer and videographer.   I travel around the country taking professional headshots, professional event photography, and professional video of individuals and businesses that promote business and careers. So about the questions. I want this podcast to be helpful for anybody that wants to know more about branding. I specialize in visual branding and copy. I will cover these topics here, but most will be around using imagery and videography. So for today's topic. Up until 2015, I was mainly a portrait and physique photographer. I was one of those photographers at bodybuilding and fitness shows, taking pictures for magazines like Flex, Muscle and Fitness, and muscular development. But around 2015, I wanted to branch out to something more. I love to help people. I love lifting people and helping them be the best they can be. Ever since I was a teenager, I wanted to be the next Tony Robbins. It was only natural for me to be drawn to professional headshots. So many headshots were so bad. They are still wrong. Want proof? I just got to LinkedIn and looked up CEO headshots. Most of them are terrible. They are old school. The person looks uncomfortable. They look like people I absolutely would never want to do business with. So I knew I could do better. I researched what I could do, and I found great mentors. Mentors that are the best in the industry. So today, we dive deeper into the potential of professional headshots, which has been my primary focus for almost ten years.

Your headshot is often the first glimpse people get of you, whether it's on your LinkedIn profile, your website, or even in your email signature. That split second can make all the difference between grabbing someone's attention or being passed over.

 

Think about it. When scrolling through a page full of profiles or searching for potential collaborators, what catches your eye? It's those beautiful headshots that make you pause that make you want to learn more about the person behind the photo. For women, it could be a well-lit photo where you have a warm, welcoming glow, or for men, that may have slight shadows to make an image more mysterious.
