False Guilt = not good enough    Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled. But not everyone possesses this knowledge. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. 1 Corinthians 8:7    False guilt can result in depression and spiritual paralysis. In the Bible, Matthew 12:43–45 states that an evil spirit that leaves a person goes to arid places in search of rest, but finds none. It then says, "I will return to the house I left". When it arrives, it finds the house clean and in order, and then takes seven more wicked spirits with it, and they live there. The final condition of that man is worse than the first.    John 14:31) Seeing then they had not the protection of Angels, and were burdened with the useless observances of the Law, and the traditions of the Pharisees, the Devil returns to his former dwelling, and, taking to...

Come and hear, all of you who reverence the Lord, and I will tell you what he did for me: For I cried to him for help, with praises ready on my tongue. He would not have listened if I had not confessed my sins. But he listened! He heard my prayer! He paid attention to it!

Blessed be God who didn't turn away when I was praying, and didn't refuse me his kindness and love. (Psalm 66:16-20)

  Fasting and prayer can restore the loss of the "first love" for your Lord and result in a more intimate relationship with Christ.

  Fasting is a biblical way to truly humble yourself in the sight of God (Psalm 35:13; Ezra 8:21). King David said, "I humble myself through fasting."

  Fasting enables the Holy Spirit to reveal your true spiritual condition, resulting in brokenness, repentance, and a transformed life.

  The Holy Spirit will quicken the Word of God in your heart and His truth will become more meaningful to you!

  Fasting can transform your prayer life into a richer and more personal experience.

  Fasting can result in a dynamic personal revival in your own life-and make you a channel of revival to others.

  Fasting and prayer are the only disciplines that fulfill the requirements of II Chronicles 7:14:

Call to Action:  repent, prayer, get your mind right, meditate, limit your food intake, save some money, get in the Word of God. Start a new habit of prayer. Fast daily, if your health allows it.
