If we reflect on our previous day we can become aware of which of our activities were uplifting. With that awareness, we can choose to engage in more uplifting activities in the future. While this seems obvious, putting this into practice improves our life. One of the recent behaviors that I've found uplifting is taking the initiative in my communications to share that the only power that satisfies is power over ourself, and that blaming others for our problems, never solves them. We've created all our problems and have the power to solve them as well. On great method...

We persist in areas that are important to us. Sometimes it takes persistence over a long period of time to achieve our objective. It took me over 20 years before I would allow myself to write my first book. There is a block to realizing more of my potential that I've been consciously aware of for decades. I keep chipping away at that block by allowing myself to be increasingly spontaneous in the present moment. Nevertheless, there is a contribution to the world I feel compelled to make that in my estimation, I'm holding back. I am having the thouht that I need to...

Having the courage of my convictions is a challenge. I know and believe that believing in myself is necessary to thrive at the highest level. That becomes a challenge when believing in what I know to be true, and am committed to, is at odds with "conventional wisdom". The longstanding habit of going along with other's thinking and behavior in an effort to feel more connected, more included, more loved and more successful is a destructive habit. What works is trusting myself and what I know. I've tried to do things the way others do and by and large it...

I have always been successful at creating what I want when I am at peace with the process of that creation and confident of my success. I have goals, inspiration and desires that I don't yet have the clarity and confidence to achieve. Fortunately, I have a method of addressing this situation. I know that acceptance is healing and the most efficient way forward is to have a greater acceptance of what is true right now. Right now, what's true is I have created a circumstance in my life that is bringing my resistance to having the success I want in the world to the...

Inaccurate thoughts blind me to realizing my potential. The more conscious I can be of my thoughts and the power I have to choose which thoughts to believe and act on, the more I can access my unlimited potential consciouly. We all have unlimited potential. The more accepting of ourself, the more honest with ourself we are, the more we claim our power. We create the world we perceive with the thoughts we choose to believe and act on. That's the basis of the longstanding thought, "If you think you can, or if you think you can't, your're right". To realize...

What I focus on grows in my reality. The more I focus on my inner life, the larger part of my experience of life is composed of my inner life. This is attractive because I have control of my inner life. My inner life are the thoughts and feelings I experience. The more conscious I am of my thoughts and feelings, the more positive and uplifting they become. Here's a real time example. A company to help me market my books was recommended to be by someone I have an uplifting relationship with. I've contacted the company because I felt care and concern for the...

There have been times when, in retrospect, I've chosen to learn the hard way to make sure the learning "sunk in" deeply. In general I do my best to learn the easy way. I look for the insights and changes in thinking and behavior I can make to create a smoother, happier, more loving and joyful life. For sure, there are more changes to be made to maximize that. The change that is coming up for me now is to stop being so hard and critical of myself. Telling myself over and over that I'm not living up to my potential, that I'm not using my talents all I could be, that I...
info_outlineThe long view is accepting who we are, what we think, and being our authentic self will maximize all that is good in our life. We each have a unique road to travel in gaining self acceptance/self realization. We recognize that path by the vitality, joy, inspiration and sense of well being we experience when we're traveling our unique path.
Obstacles are created in our life by thoughts that are not accurate. Many of those inaccurate thoughts are unconscious. When we encounter obstacles, I believe the thing to do is to listen to the thoughts that are responsible. In my experience, accepting the thoughts responsible for my problems allows me to open up to become aware of more accurate thoughts I can act on, thereby improving my situation. I know I've identified accurate thoughts worthy of acting on when I experience peace with that thought.
One of the obstacles in my life and the lives of many others is the habit of looking for acceptance from others rather than being accepting of our self. Self acceptance is the only acceptance that satisfies. Paradoxically, the more we accept and value our self, the more others reflect that back to us by accepting and valuing us. I've tried to gain acceptance by being what I think others want me to be. It doesn't work for me and I've never seen that work for anyone else either. I love the Oscar Wilde quote, "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken".
