What it means to be myself
For decades I've been sharing and resonating with the thought that "being myself is my best chance at success". This podcast digs into a greater understanding and acceptance of what it means to be myself. Much of what being myself includes is trusting and respecting and acting on what I know to be true. For example, I know the most efficient way forward is to have a more complete acceptance of what is true right now. I know that I have the capacity to experience all the positive emotions I desire independent of other people. I know that my perception of other people is a projection of myself. Being myself means increasingly acting on these and other thoughts I know to be true. Accepting that I have access to all the wisdom that exists is a big part of what it means to be myself. How perspectives fit together
I awoke wanting to have a greater acceptance and understanding of how the various perspectives I experience fit together. In response, I asked that question in meditation and here's what I got... The stress in my life comes from giving more creedence to what other people say works than trusting what I've proven works for me. I've gotten jobs that were the perfect jobs for me that I didn't apply for and didn't realize at the time were the perfect jobs for me. In every case I got those jobs by being myself, not trying to be what I thought the employer wanted. When I was searching for someone to marry and spend the rest of my life with, being set up didn't work for me. I met my wife of more than 38 years going to a spiritual program I enjoyed participating with. What works for me is being myself; the spiritually oriented, joyful, wise, compassionate person I am. To be at peace and more confident I need to continually accept more fully who I am and allow myself to more freely express that. Fortunately, I have decades of experience demonstrating this is what works for me. Understanding, accepting and expressing who I am is what makes all the pieces of my life and perspectives work together. Making every day fresh and new
If we're growing spiritually, growing in our self acceptance, then every day is new. If it's not, it's a sign there is growth available to us. We can access that growth by being more focused in the present moment, more conscious of the thoughts in our mind, more aware of how our body is at this moment, or any other way that creates a focus in the present moment. Detachment

Detachment
Being attached to physical world outcomes doesn't produce the emotional benefits I desire. Only internal acceptance of the wholeness I am can give me the conscious experience of the love, joy, wisdom, energy, compassion and powerf I desire. Being increasingly focused internally allows me to be more detached to physical world circumstances. For example, accepting that I whole and complete as I am allows me to act with less concern about how I'll be perceived by others. This greater detachment allows me to take action more freely because I'm not counting on others outside of my control to behave in a certain way for me to be happy and content. I am aware that I already am happy and content; that those emotions are already part of who I am. Being detached from the physical world gives us greater freedom to effectively create the world we desire for ourselves. The more I focus inernally, the greater is my self acceptance. The greater my self acceptance, the more coscious choice I have over what and how I create. We are always creating. The greater our internal acceptance, the more we ceate what we consciously choose to create. The less aware we are of the thoughts in our mind, our freedom to choose which thoughts we act on, the impact thoughts both conscious and denied have in our life, the less control we have on the life we create for ourselves. Physical aspects of spiritual healing
Almost all of us have had incorrect thoughts through out our life. Those inaccurate thoughts eventually create a physical problem. As we accept our thoughts and realize which are true and which are false, we release the disease that the false thoughts have created. I recorded this podcast because I am experiencing alot of lactic acid in my muscles even when I'm not exercising. I was concerned that there might be an underlying physical problem causing that. As I put myself in a centerd state in recording the podcast, I became increasingly confident that the lactic acid is part of healing the physical component of false thinking. That it's a good thing. I believe we have the answers to our questions within us. The more accurately and deeply we listen to ourself, the more, I believe, we'll uncover accurate answers we'll benefit from. There is value in getting input from ohers, and ultimately it's our choice and responsibility how we act. Resistance to self realization
We all have unlimited potential. It's internal resistance that prevents us from claiming ownership of that potential and consciously directing it as we choose. Healing takes place through acceptance. That includes healing the resistance within us that is keeping us from consciousy accepting the magnificence we are and consciously using our power and ability. In this podcast I attempt to more fuly accept the resistance I do and don't have to taking ownership of my potential. It's a chalenge for me not to jump forward and try to act in spite of the resistance right away, or try to deny the existence of the resistance, or to be angry that the resistance exists at all. Deepening inner focus
When we focus on the deepest part of ourselves, we are focusing on the part of ourself that is eternal and will never change; the best part of our self. Because our innermost part will never change, to have alignment and all the benefits of alignment we need to get the parts of us that do change to align with our innermost self. We can change our thinking, our behavior, our relationships, and how we view ourself. So how do we increase our focus on our innermost self? For me, it's what's left when thinking stops, peace. My thinking stops when I observe thoughts as they arise in my mind and choose to acknowledge their existence and not act on them; allow the thoughts to drift out of mind just as they drifted into my mind. Having the thought that this peace is part of me and there to be experienced whenever I want is a comforting thought. Finding solutions
We've all had something that has worked for us in life. Identifying that allows us to choose to do more of what works for us, finding solutions. For me it's persistance and meditation. I ask myself. "am I going to give up" when confronted with challenges I don't currently know how to meet. Invaribly, the answer that I come up with is, "No, I'm not giving up". Then I meditate, accepting the thoughts in my mind. At first the thoughts are usually negative and defeatist. As I accept the existence of. those thoughts and choose not to act on them, invariably I get an idea of something else I could try. I know every attempt increases my belief in myself regardless of the outcome. Making the attempt itself makes me stronger and more effective. I find myself asking myself the question, do things work out for me? I would say yes in the long run and often times no in the short run. I think I should redefine what I understand "working out" to mean. I feel strong and at peace when I'm making one more attempt even if that attempt doesn't seem to work in the physical world.. That attempt is a success in helping me feel better about myself and stronger, even if it seems to not work in the physical world. Upon reflection, just identifying and making the attempt fills me with hope and optimism. I'm prepared to call that success. In producing this podcast, I've come aware of one more attempt I can make today and am more optimistic as a result. My Resistance

My Resistance
We all have resistance to tapping our unused abilities. By accepting the existence of that resistance, we heal it in part. My resistance, like a great many others, is the fear that if I accept and claim my wisdom, power and ability, I'll be ostracized and written off as not being a credible person. This fear of being completely myself has been with me as long as I can remember. I've chipped away at the fear. The phrase, "There is no gaurantee that being myself will work, and I'm certain if it doesn't work, nother else would either. It's my best chance." has been a big help to me. Many times in my life I've found I need to more fully accept and express myself in order to move forward. I've done this inspite of the fear. Every time I can think of, the results have been tremendously positive. I know I have both the wisdom and inspiration to dramatically uplift the consciousness of the world. I believe I have the communication skills to make this happen. I believe it is only my fear that is holding me back. The more I accept my fear, the more determined I find myself to act inspite of that fear. Here is some of the wisdom the world needs now to progress positively. THE ONLY WAY TO SATISFY OUR NEED TO EXPERIENCE POWER IS TO ACCEPT THE POWER WE HAVE OVER OURSELF. NO AMOUNT OF AUTHORITARINISM, NO AMOUNT OF MONEY, NO AMOUNT OF FOLLOWERS, WILL EVER FILL THAT NEED. ONLY ACCEPTING OUR POWER OVER OUR SELF FILLS OUR NEED TO EXPERIENCE POWER. Another piece of wisdom the world needs now is: WHAT WE DO TO OTHERS WE ARE DOING TO OURSELF. WHEN WE UPLIFT OTHERS, WE ARE UPLIFTED. WHEN WE HURT OTHERS, WE ARE HURT. THERE IS A WIN WIN SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM. THERE HAS TO BE BECAUSE WE ARE ALL ONE. I hope my example of acknowledging my fear and choosing to act in spite of it inspites you to do the same. After all, example is the most powerful form of leadership. Finding my way back to center
I woke up this morning feeling my autonomic nervous system had forgotten how to breath. I seemed to have to consciously choose to breath. The thoughts I had were "I'm failing", "give up", "you can't continue on" and the like. Once I noticed the thought "I can't find my way back to center", I knew what I had to do. Even though part of me thought it wouldn't make any difference, I began my morning meditation. In meditation I realized I need to take greater ownership of my life path of advancing the acceptance that we are all ONE in the world. Thinking about doing that gives rise once again to the fear that I'd be ostracized and alone if I shared that. I know that fear and thought are not accurate, and it's still a challenge to act in spite of that fear. This is the understanding I need in this moment to keep moving forward. I encourage myself by reminding myself that every time I've shared myself more fully it's worked out well for me, despite my fears. Everytime we succeed in restoring ourself to a centered state, our effectiveness and belief in our ability to do that increases. I find a deep sense of well being when I'm walking my path. In fact that sense of well being is how I know I'm walking my path. For me, anytime I'm engaged in growing my acceptance of being ONE with all that exists, I know I'm walking my path. When I experience being lifted up by lifting others up, I know I'm experiencing being ONE. When I empathize with others, I know I'm experiencing being ONE. Unique physical healing
We need to focus on the healing modality that works for us. That modality could be unique to us. What matters is identifying and doing what works for us regardless of what works for others. There are a wide variety of "cures" for physical problems. My advice is to make a list of every option you can think of and engage with the option you most deeply resonate with. What works for me is meditation. When I can meditate on what's bothering me and listen to the thoughts connected to that problem, I often can change my thinking in a manner that releases the problem. I realize that doesn't work for everyone. I believe we all have the wisdom we need to thrive at the highest level within us. It's a matter of listening deeply to our self. Using spiritual principles to heal the world
Being ourself and walking our unique path heals the world. In my case this includes being an inspiring example of being aware of and acting on the wisdom of the fact that we are all one. To effectively communicate we are one in a way people can relate to I use examples. Some of the most common are that when we lift anyone up, we lift ourselves up as well; there is a win win solution to every problem; and the only power that satisfies is power over ourself. In order to have power over ourself, we must accept what is true; what resonates deeply within us and uplifts us. We need to accept what enriches our life and do that. One piece of wisdom that I've employed effectively is accepting that the most efficient way forward is to have a greater acceptance of what is true right now. In moving forward in healing the world, I need to accept what I'm already doing to heal the world. I've been very effective at inspiring people to listen more deeply to themselves, to choose to act on thoughts that are inspiring and uplifting. I've published 13 books and a great many articles sharing truth a great many resonate with. I've given speeches that people have let me know afterward had a positive impact in their life. I've coached people to help them believe in themselves more. I've done a great deal to lift myself and the world up, and am doing more now. Global Healing
We each have a unique path to follow in fully realizing and accepting ourself. My path is to advance global consciousness and healing. That's what results in me feeling inspired and vitally alive. Employing our skills
We need to take ownership of our skills and talents to realize more of the benefit of employing them. One of my skills is the ability to be aware of my thoughts and the choice I have to label them as accurate or inaccurate, and the freedom to choose which thoughts to act on and which to let go. This is a method that works for me in removing more of the obstruction that limits me from using more of my unlimited potential to improve my life and the lives of others. Acting on the positive thoughts and not acting on the negative thoughts is easier said than done. It requires we make conscious choices of which thoughts to act on. Becoming increasingly positive
By accepting the existence of negative thoughts and choosing not to act on them, they're losing their power and increasingly being replaced by positive thoughts including gratitude. This has been a long process for me. For many years, my attention was primarily focused on what I saw as the "short comings" in my life. I was focused on trying to solve what I perceived as the problems in my life. Now, increasingly, I find myself focusing on what I'm grateful for and happy about in my life. I'm happy about this progress for many reasons. One of which is I know what I focus on grows in my world. Having an increasingly positive focus creates a better and better world for me. Advancing global consciousness
Global consciousness is advanced by accepting 2 thoughts. First, the only way to satisfy our need for power is to gain power over ourselves. This is accomplished by being conscious of our thoughts and our power to choose which thoughts we act on. Second, there is some truth in every point of view. When we identify with and relate to that truth we can find a way forward for even the most seemingly opposite perspectives. Getting Stronger
We access the unlimited strength and power by creating greater alignment of mind (thoughts), body (physical body and actions in the physical world), and spirit (the spark of the devine that is our true self). The spark of the devine is immutable, can never change, can never be created or destroyed. To create alignment of mind, body and spirit, we need to change our thinking and behavior to be in alignmengt with the core spirit of who we are at the deepest and most profound level. The method of alignment that works for me is meditatioin. In meditation I uncover thoughts that are in alignmengt with my spirit. Acting on those thoughts creates greater alignment of mind, body and spirit. What works for me may or may not work for you. What matters is that you find what works for you and do that. Creating help in our life
Anything that uplifts us, uplifts everyone. When we ask for help that will lift us up, often we need to honestly and fairly articulate how the person supplying that help will benefit as well. Sometimes people will figure out how they benefit by helping us on their own. Many times, we need to articulate that benefit. Our ability to create a situation where people understand and relate to the benefit to them of helping us is important in successfully getting the help we need. I believe it's a skill I have and want to develop. One of the greatest gifts we can give others is to accept and acknowledge their unique skills and abilities. Offering acceptnace of the worth and value we see in others is of great value and is part of the benefit they receive in helping us. Finding greater alignment
I find I often need reminding that the best thing I can do for myself and others is to be in a peaceful centered state of alignment. Following my breathing helps create alignment. In that centered state I can trust that any inspiration I receive will be optimal to act on, benefitting everyone. There are people in my life that are having health problems. I often feel their pain and am wanting to know what I can do to support them and reduce or end their suffering. I find that a greater understanding of how and why I've created the life I have is very useful. It leads me to a greater acceptance of my unique and valuable talents that I can beneficially employ in my life. (note: we each have unique and valuable talents to employ to our mutual benefit). It has me looking at the challenges I've created in my life as having a purpose in my spiritual growth/self acceptance. That's much different than looking at the challenges as a burden. For many decades I was focused on accepting what we all have in common to the exclusion of accepting what I have that is unique. Only recently have I come to understnd that the more I accept how unique and valuable I am, the more I experience being ONE with all that exists. I believe I have a unique ability to reach world leaders and inspire them to accept and act on win win thinking. I believe I can effectively communicate there is a way for EVERYONE to be better off. Taking the long view
The long view is accepting who we are, what we think, and being our authentic self will maximize all that is good in our life. We each have a unique road to travel in gaining self acceptance/self realization. We recognize that path by the vitality, joy, inspiration and sense of well being we experience when we're traveling our unique path. Obstacles are created in our life by thoughts that are not accurate. Many of those inaccurate thoughts are unconscious. When we encounter obstacles, I believe the thing to do is to listen to the thoughts that are responsible. In my experience, accepting the thoughts responsible for my problems allows me to open up to become aware of more accurate thoughts I can act on, thereby improving my situation. I know I've identified accurate thoughts worthy of acting on when I experience peace with that thought. One of the obstacles in my life and the lives of many others is the habit of looking for acceptance from others rather than being accepting of our self. Self acceptance is the only acceptance that satisfies. Paradoxically, the more we accept and value our self, the more others reflect that back to us by accepting and valuing us. I've tried to gain acceptance by being what I think others want me to be. It doesn't work for me and I've never seen that work for anyone else either. I love the Oscar Wilde quote, "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken".

Healing difficulty breathing
Like depression, dificulty breathing is a sign that more wisdodm and solutions are available for us to become aware of. Today, I woke up with difficulty breathing. I slowed down and had the thought that I'd planned to write an introduction to a Zoom seminar I'm going to lead this morning. I sat down and the introduction flowed naturally onto the paper. I was in the flow. After I finished the introduction, I realized my breathing had returned to normal. I find it very useful to recognize that negative thoughts and the emotions they create are reminders there are uplifting thoughts ready to be acknowledged and acted upon. All I need to is to accept the existence of the negative thoughts while choosing not to act on them. Invariably, this process drains the negative thoughts of their power and makes room for positive thoughts to act on. I offer thought coaching to help people become increasingly conscious of their thoughts and the freedom that exists to choose which thoughts to act on and which thoughts to choose not to act on. The source of great health
Studies of longevity have shown the single determinate component is great joy. Joy is part of who we are. To experience greater joy we need only focus on the joy that is already in our life. Whatever we focus on becomes a greater part of our life. When we're experiencing great joy, our body mind and spirit are in alignment. That is the definition of great health in my opinion. The most efficient way forward is to have a greater acceptance of what is true right now. This works in every area including accepting our worth and value more fully.
