The More Abundant Life
God 492 – Jesus Christ Abounded Much More Below are written all the Scriptures showing how Jesus Christ completed works for us, which were so complete that He abounded towards us in many ways, including being righteous and having Grace bound towards us. We have the hope of the return of Jesus Christ, that we have hope in all the promises that are in God's Word that are for us, and we can have them. Jesus Christ did a complete work for us. Romans 3:19 - 31 “Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and...

God 491 – Paul the Servant of Jesus Christ Below are written all the Scriptures, making it easy for you to follow along with on your devices. In our last podcast episode, number 490, we learned that Paul the Apostle, the servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, longed to see the Saints in Rome. He wanted to impart some spiritual gifts so that they may be established. We're continuing in Romans chapter 1 verse 20 Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so...

God 490 – Romans Chapters One – The Apostle Paul's Goals Below are written all the Scriptures, making it easy for you to follow along with on your devices. Romans 1:1 “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,” Servant is the word "doulos" in Greek. In the lands and Times of the Bible, a servant could choose by his free will to continue to work for his master after 7 years as a servant. He could feel like his master was a good Master who cared for him very well, and all his needs were met. So he would decide to continue with the master....

God 489 – Acts Chapters 10 & 11 – The Gentiles Receive sprirt Below are all the Scriptures, making it easy to follow on your devices. After the persecution that arose about Stephen, and as the Believers were scattered abroad from Jerusalem, the Word started to live in the surrounding areas. The apostles were teaching God's Word. The following Scriptures record the Gentiles first receiving the Word of God and believing and receiving spirit. I'm going to read these two chapters together and point out a few things as I go through them. Acts 10:1 – 48 “There was a certain man in...

God 488 – Acts Chapters 9 – Persecutions to Victory Below are all the Scriptures, making it easy to follow on your devices. After the original day of Pentecost, the apostles utilized tremendous power. Signs, Miracles, and wonders were being done, and many people were added to the church daily—first 5,000, then 3,000 as the Lord added to the church daily, and now, here in chapter 5, many more were being added. The power of God was in great force and was seen in the early part of the Christian church. Great respect came upon all who saw it and were a part of it. After the days immediately...

God 486 – Acts Chapters 3 & 4 Below are written all the Scriptures and some of my notes, making it easy for you to follow along with the lesson right from your devices. Ten days after the Ascension comes the day of Pentecost, the day on the Christian calendar when the Holy Spirit was first made available. After all the accomplished works of Jesus Christ, it is the biggest day in the Christian calendar. As we think about that and get ready to celebrate that wonderful day, I'm doing a small series on what happened after it was first available to be born again. Acts 3:1 – 26 “Now Peter...

God 485 – 40 Days to the Ascension Below are written all the Scriptures and some of my notes, making it easy for you to follow along with the lesson right from your devices. After Jesus Christ's resurrection, he was on Earth for 40 days until the Ascension, when he was gathered up to be on God's right-hand side. During those 40 days, he instructed his Apostles and disciples on what they were to do next. In this podcast, we'll look at that in detail. Matthew 28:16 “Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.” By Jesus's instructions to...

God 484 – The Ministry of Jesus Christ Below are written all the Scriptures and some of my notes, making it easy for you to follow along with the lesson right from your devices. To teach everything involved in Jesus Christ's ministry would take many hours, but here's a teaching on the part of Jesus Christ's Ministry that we can see from the Bible. John 8:28b & 29 “I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. 29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.” His father, God, taught...

God 483 – The Beginnings of Jesus Christ Ministry Below are written all the Scriptures and some of my notes, making it easy for you to follow along with the lesson right from your devices. In God's Word, there are many beginnings to the life of Jesus Christ. There are many parts of beginning His life, just like every other human being. Sometimes, we might go to college or some other endeavor. I'm thinking about what the beginning of your college career is. Is it the day you start school and take your first class? Yes, that is, but what about the preparation? When you apply, when you get...
info_outline226 - The age of Grace revealed in Acts part 1
By
Steve Jaynes
There are two main characters in The Book of Acts that we need to look at to start to understand the age of Grace. One is Peter, who was an apostle of Jesus Christ. The second is Paul, who was made an apostle of Jesus Christ by Jesus Christ himself. There are other men and women who helped in getting the information out about the age of Grace. But primarily Peter, in the beginning, chapters of the book of Acts. Then Paul in the middle of the book of Acts to the end. Others also explain the Age of Grace, sometimes called The Age of the Great Mystery.
Acts 2:36 – 39 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."
We see in these verses the word 'repent', which means to change one's mind for the better. For a closer walk with God. The word 'repent' is, in part, a function of the renewed mind.
Acts 2:41-47 “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common; 45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. 46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
Right from the beginning here in Acts, we can see the power of the holy spirit being manifested. We can also see that the Lord did the increase. We know that we can water, we can plant, but God gives the increase. We just share the favor or the grace of God to others.
Acts 3:1 – 8, 19 “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; 3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. 4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. 5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. 6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. 19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;”
Freedom is available to men and women when you teach them God's Word. They can start to walk. They can start to be delivered. They can start to see the promises of God in their life. They can start to see the power of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 4:7 - 12 “And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; 10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
It is in the name of Jesus Christ that people are saved. It's the teaching about Jesus Christ that brings the power of the holy spirit to people. It's the most powerful name in the world. We can use that name in prayer, ministering, and in helping people. It is in that most powerful name. The name of Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:29 – 31 “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings [True believers are threaten all the time.]: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, 30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. 31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.”
The people who speak the Word of God with boldness will really have something. They'll be able to tap into the resources for a more abundant life for themselves and others. There is nothing wrong with being bold on God's Word.
Acts 5:14 – 16 “And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.”
Everyone must have been believed. The power of the holy spirit was demonstrated.
Acts 5:17 – 31 “Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation, 18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison. 19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, 20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life. 21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. 22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned, and told, 23 Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within. 24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow. 25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people. 26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them, 28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. 30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. 31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.”
We all need forgiveness of sins because we always fall short of the glory of God. We have forgiveness of sins because of what Jesus Christ did for us. That is good news. People need to hear it. They want to have it.
Until the next time we get together, may God bless you abundantly.
